Thank you for your reply. I am not new to Poker but I have not been playing consistently for several years. I started playing Stud Poker in the early 80's. Then, when Hold'em came along, I learned it and started playing it.

Because I had a career in law, as an attorney, I really did not play very often. However, I have read well over 20 books and taken seminars and continue the study. I have approached it like a college course.

Now that I am retired, I am actually going to make it my next career. I am currently in China, although I am from the U.S. On October 11 -15, I am going to Macau to play. Then, there is that Poker Stars Tournament at the end of October that I want to play, which is also in Macau.

I lived in LV for a couple of years recently, played small stakes case 2-5 hold'em and tournaments from 100 - 500 buy-ins. I have had inconsistent results, with the tourneys - having won some, top 2-4 in others and in top 15% in others. Did not cash in at least 50% of the tourneys.

However, I intend to change all of this now. After Macau, I will play in WSOP China in December and then I will begin to set the schedule for next year. Australia, Europe, USA, Caribbean, WPT events, and so on. I am going to begin playing on line in November. Yes, I would love any input as to good poker in different locales.

As for the equity calculator, I have not really used it before. I did use Poker Stove for brief period.

Thanks for your help and I will gladly take part in the blogs. My live cash game limits will be 5/10 NLH for the time being. Then, I want to move into the 10/20 NLH, within 1-2 months. When I did play, I played more tourneys. But, I like cash games to build the bankroll. As for online, I am more inclined to play 2/5, 3/6 NLH , tourneys, S&G's, full ring. I do not have the experience with the poker tools to play effectively online, so I need to learn them and if you can help in that department, I will appreciate it.

So, for the time being, my playing is out of the U.S. Do you know of a bank that players playing outside U.S. use for their online play?

Finally, thanks for your reply and advice relative to learning how to use Equilab. I think that I will graduate to the Pro subscriptions once I am comfortable with the tool.

Do you already have an account at a certain poker room? If not (and even if you do), you might want to take a look at the Bonus and Free Money offers on Pokerstrategy to give your starting bankroll a little boost. About banking options outside the U.S., many players like using e-wallet services like Neteller for their deposits and withdrawals. I think there is a bonus offer for this one as well, not sure if it's available in your region, though. In any case, it always depends on the poker room and the region of the player which payment options are available. You should see a complete list of all the options that are available to you at your poker room's website or their cashier window, and you could always ask their customer support if you have any specific questions about it.
