green line is equity line, the net result of blue line (money won at showdown) and red line (money won without showdown). Yellow is adjusted equity, how much I should have won/lost: for ex if going all in you won a 10bucks pot but your all-in equity was of 60% you would have a green line higher 4 with respect of the yellow line (you won more than what you should have).

Hi guys,

just a quick update on my last session. Just played slightly over 1k hands. As I started I did some foolish calls on river that costed me three BI in less than 100 hands. The rest of the night was pure grinding to recover from the bad start. I need to understand that 2 bad calls can cost me one hour grinding, I should be more focused. The problem could have been the 10NL shot I had the night before, it did't go well. I think it's quite normal, but I played really well imo, just had to fight against variance. It happens, better to move down 5nl again then be smacked at higher level. So, no pressure, I'll build my bankroll again until next 10nl shot.
Btw I think that I deserve a B.
here's the graph:

Hi guys,

here I'm posting my results of march 5NL, for the whole month and since 9th as well (when I started coaching).
Hope to improve further my results in April.
No particular goals for April, just want to keep studying at least 4 hours per week and reach 50k hands max 4-tabling.

Hi guys,
yesterday first session in April, played very good, I would only change two decisions I made on river in two occasion, but overall I'd played very close to my A-game.

I decided stop posting and looking at my all-in adjusted equity line (yellow), since it's a disturbing element both when's higher and lower than green line. When's significantly higher I feel like robbed and I try and justify my bad plays with that; sometimes I tilt. On the other side when is lower (so green line higher than all-in adjusted) I sometimes feel guilty, know that that does not reflect my actual game and I tend to loosen up my game. Besides that does not consider all other factors that contribute to pos or neg variance: for ex on a multiway pot I flopped str8 with flop 678s and me having T9o, but turn came 9 and river came T completing higher str8 to one opponent and flush to other. Pot was 100+ bb. It doesn't take into account all this kind of scenario, frequency of trips/str8/draw or not even some mutiway all-in equity adjusted hands: yesterday I was in a 400+ bb pots I had 85% equity on turn, BTN with 10% and CO with 5%. River came with one of the 5 outs BTN had, he took down all the pot (main and side) and I noticed this was not detected by all-in adjusted line (since it was with main and side pot).

These are the reasons I will stop using it, to only focus on red and blue line, since I believe that over a 200k+ hand sample it will have minimal influence. Why then should my game be influenced on a shorter period of time? I think I'll play much more easily without looking at yellow line.

Here is my graph of yesterday night:

Hi guys,

tonight I had one of the worst drawdown ever (a), yet one of the most important session I've had in months(b), undoubtedly.

(a) 16BI down.
(b) I tilted badly, but I could discover my leak when tilting. I noticed that a few months ago, when I was tilting, I just opened wider my range so I put effort in correcting it. After that I believe that, even though I could shout and punch the wall as a fool when bad beated, I couldn't make mistakes as a consequence of that, since I was still focus on my game. The problem was that my leak was not anymore that one, another one.

Tonight I understand that I call to much and - most of all - I rarely fold when at river. You may think it's obvious but this has many implications in my mental game: the wider I call and the less I fold at river with junk cards, the more (ofc!!!) I loose hands at showdown.

But I think it's just bad luck and negative variance since villain completed str8 or flush at river or he called with air and then shoved all in cos he found two pairs 59o with run run... . And the more I loose the more I think it's just bad variance and the more I tilt, wider I go to showdown. But this is a downward spiral. And I can have a -16BI in 1.5k hands, like tonight, before pausing and analysing my game.
The truth is that I was building myself that "negative variance", surely I had some bad beats in a row that made me fall into this negative loop. But at the same time if I call when raised and I know I will loose - even if villain got the perfect card at river - it's not bad luck, it's bad play. If I have AA and a str8 completes on board at river, I just have to accept it and move on, since the difference between me and a strong player is all here.

This could be very simplistic to you, but believe me when I say this could be my best correction in months. That was really killing my rate. It happened three times just this week. Blue line going to hell. And me giving merit to bad variance and not to my mistakes came out with tilting. I should move the focus on my inner problems, not to card dealer, and try keeping blue line as higher as possible when this happens.

I learned a very important lesson, everybody reacts in different ways when tilting. I found out mine, I surely won't let it happen again.

Hi guys, just a quick update since a friend of mine made me notice I was not posting anymore.
I'm still rebuilding my bankroll at 2nl after the two session-downswing at 5nl of 20 BI. I'm just playing hands over hands over hands. Don't want to keep looking at my equity cause I know the way is long. My goal is to make other 40k hands before coming back to 5nl. At 2 nl I can play 8 tables (4regulars 4zoom) staying focus, so I hope to reach it soon. Then I will publish my results, hopefully I will have the right bankroll to come and playing again at 5nl and start study again.
But atm I think the best thing for me is to play play and play, and go back to my level as soon as possible.

GL to all,

Hi guys,

just a quick update on my situation since the last time. I rebuilt my bankroll from 15€ up to 100€ grinding at 2nl. At first it was super, but lately I got a long flat period. I started playing 2nl and 5nl together since I think I played way better at 2nl, I could fold at flop much easier. So I think it's helping me, I can understand where I play differently probably given the more money involved in big pots).

Here the graphs. Of course I had times in which I played badly (after 35k hands at 2nl I started feeling a poker god and radically changed my game (more bluff, more bets with air etc)), but trying to go back to A-game as fast as possible. I have a copy of Mental Game close to me when playing.

By the way I feel improved a bit, moving down to 2nl helped me getting rid of some old bad habits and some greedy plays

Hi guys,

a quick update before my next lesson with the coach tomorrow.
I'll be posting my chart (now playing only 5nl again) since the last time and then the cumulative since 13april, when I started playing again after a short break. Feeling great, I perfectly know a bad moment with tremendous drawdown can come any time, so keeping my attention turned on 100%

last 10k hands at 5nl

since mid april mix 2 and 5 nl

Hello everybody,

I want to update you since it's been a long time I havent posted. On stars.it 5nl zoom seems to be completely dead, nobody is playing there anymore. I was actually trying to move up at 10nl, but the problem is that when I'm down 5BI I cannot move to 5nl and rebuild bankroll. So I'm playing on another site, it's super soft, basically people is giving you money, I can rebuild there everytime I need to take a shot. Hoping to be able to stay at 10nl in a short period of time, since in this other website I cannot improve my game.
Not posting graphs since my coach told me it's pointless to look at them before 100k hands, so I cannot put them after a session of 1k hands and think they are useful. btw atm I'm down like 15 BI at 10nl on stars.
I will try to keep a log of my mental game, since Im experiencing too many tilts lately. I need to fix this problem or I wont make it out there.

GL to all

Hi guys,

good news from my own. I finally managed to play consistently at 10NL, and to be honest and playing pretty good. Good results as well over the past 20k+ hands, but before posting any graphs I prefer to still wait and see if that's not only positive variance. I'm confident I can stay there and win, since I could fix and improve my mental game with the help of a person. Now I can play as if I'm playing at 2nl. Can easily fold AA or KK, or the nut at the turn if I feel my opponent hit the river. That's the best achievement for me. I can stay in control and calm even if somebody bad beats me, I can accept that. I'm really happy, my mind was the biggest obstacle to me.

See you in 20k hands,
good luck to all
