OK, so I raised with total air -- OK, I had a gutshot, but still...
This hand is special though -- I have 5 high cards, so I block others from having them.
With this hand, you can raise, and quite often just steal the blinds.
If you do get called, and unless the caller hits a decent hand you still take the pot.

Normally, you fold this vs a raise, but...

Note that villain raised and drew 4 cards!
Which means he had a bare A.

So standing pat seemed to be a good way to lock up the hand, but no -- not vs this button jockey ---

He calls my pat hand with a pair of Aces.

Nice hand sir,

Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Split

Maybe that should be Omahahaha

On my stream today I mentioned that on one site where I play PLO8 you occasionally get pots where several players are all-in pre-flop.
I don't always enter these, but if my hand has potential for the nut high hand (A-high flushes and straights etc) more than one way, and has potential for the nut low, I'll sometimes enter these battle royals

Here is today's...
GTECH G2 (Boss) - C$0.10 PL Hi/Lo - Omaha Hi/Lo - 9 players

Pre Flop: (pot: C0.25) Hero has 6♥:2♥:A♠:9♦:

fold, UTG+1 calls C0.10, Hero calls C0.10, MP+1 raises to C0.55, MP+2 raises to C2.00, fold, BTN calls C2.00, fold, fold, UTG+1 calls C1.90, Hero calls C1.90, MP+1 raises to C3.45, MP+2 raises to C9.71 and is all-in, BTN calls C7.10 and is all-in, UTG+1 calls C4.20 and is all-in, Hero calls C7.71, MP+1 calls C2.02 and is all-in
A word (or two) of explanation:
MP+1 is supremely active -- I overlimp because for certain he will raise, and I would rather just call the first raise.
MP+2, however knows MP+1 quite well, and recognizes that if he can iso-raise here, he can pick up some easy chips. Note the stack sizes -- they're tiny! Buying in for 20BB is quite normal on this site, and so is shoving them pre-flop. This is Friday night, so it is quite possible that a few of these players have had a wee drop or two.
We all call around, then MP+1 shoves the rest of his stack, then all the rest go all-in.
If you check my stack size, I'm already up a BI, so this is OPM (Other people's money) and in she goes.

Now let's see if it holds

Sorry, you can't play on this site unless you live in British Columbia, Manitoba or Quebec (provinces of Canada)

On Fridays, I often play here until I have won more than CAD 5.00 -- then I buy a lottery ticket.
Tonight's top prize is CAD 60,000,000 -- plus there is 29 additional CAD 1,000,000 prizes.

Wish me luck!

Would take this man's last 45 chips?

Answer: Yes, definitely
This was during a $1.10 8-Game tournament today.

During the 2-7 Triple draw phase, I have 3 shots at drawing to the nuts.
The draw is vulnerable since if I draw a 3, I have a straight, which is instant death in lowball, where the best hand is the worst:
7,5,4,3,2

Villain is betting out, so I have the impression that he has at worst an 8.

When he stands pat on the last draw, the only thing my A-lo can beat is a bluff, but for 45 chips, I'm not going to forgo over 100 times that amount.

Scoopage!

In PLO8, there is a Hi hand and a Lo hand.
The best 5-card poker hand wins half the pot, and the worst poker hand wins half the pot.
The worst hand is 5 unpaired cards less than or equal to 8
Part of the difficulty comes from the fact that you must use 2 and only 2 cards of the 4 from your hand, and 3 from the board for each of the Hi and Lo sections. (it can be a different two cards for each section)

Split pots are very common.
Scooping is when 1 hand wins both pots.
