Hi,
at first some intro - so I had very tough heads up today against that player - shevalex09 who looks and plays like a really good reg I think (you can also check his winnings and its a lot, so maybe poker pro?). I had 32bb at the beginning and he had 99 so not a really great position for me, also there was no deal so payjump was really huge - 262$ second place, 483$ for the first. I think I tried as I could, but to be honest, he was destroying me, I didn't play many heads ups before so I am not really good at it. So my plan was to gamble it a bit because I knew he is better. Luckilly I somehow did double up thanks to flip (KQs to his A5o) and then got some chips from pocket queens so after this two hands I felt good which might be the problem why I did so crazy thing.
So I have KQs again, and I raise and I got 3-bet, with that hand I feel it is a must call (for me no chance I am folding this in heads up) - I hope atleast that is correct ♦. Or someone would think about 4-bet? He wasn't 3-betting some crazy, so I give him quite credit, but he definitely can have some weaker hands there. Flop looks very good in my opinion, the problem is 3 cards of hearts. He bets standard, and I feel like I have a strong hand, possibly the best hand so I just shav for a lot. I feel like if I 3-bet him smaller and he shavs I give it to him anyway so I just went for it. Now when I look on it I should probably just call. I don't know. I think I messed it up totally but I wasn't sure what was the best move.
So how would you play the hand? (Maybe also if you 3-bet and get 4bet shav on the flop, or just call and there come Ah and he bets?) Any suggestions on how to get better in heads ups? Is it even needed when I got to final table heads once in very long time (but for a lot of money), isn't it better to study 9 handed play and ICM on the final table more?
Sorry for a long post and thanks for comments :).
