Some of these (not all of them) are the top regs in terms of the hourly winrate; in terms of the ROI, they're indeed the worst regs; the best ones are those who play 4-6 tables with extreme focus on hand reading, sizing and timing tells, detailed HUD stats.

If you want to become great at poker theory, you're correct in not learning that robotic style. My poker goal is different - I simply want to make a bit of money, which doesn't necessarily require playing well, it just requires playing those games where I'm better than the majority of opponents :f_biggrin:

First of all, Unibet 5-seaters are still beatable, ask ghaleon.

You'll ask me why I stop if everything went well? First, I did not take pleasure in SNG, my favorite format is and remain the tournaments.

Then move up to $5 turbo 90-man progressive KOs asap, which are a good place to test your PKO ability before you switch to larger field PKO MTTs . Merely 5-15 of them start per hour, but that's OK because you don't need more tables anyway. (There are also $1.50 non-turbo 90-mans with fixed $0.27 bounties, but they have 15-minute blind levels, last for 4 hours and start once in 15-30 minutes only.)

Your $700 bankroll will be enough for the $5s if you become at least as good as the worst regs, and once you understand how bounties and stack distributions affect the ranges (PKOs are still a poorly studied, highly experimental MTT format), you can do well there even without specific ICM study because the winner usually gets a large bounty (their own entire bounty plus the runner-up's one), which makes 'playing for the win' worthwhile and the bubbles really light - both the money bubble and the final table one are only about as heavy as those of 5-6-max STTs, even for the short stacks, and much lighter than those of 9-man STTs, so the ranges are less extreme.

Other MTSNGs without too much ICM pressure that you can add are $3.50 turbo 180-mans with rebuys and (rare) $4.50 on-demands with 15-minute levels and rather deep stacks at the FT, gregwolves is a specialist in these.

Thank you but first, I'm really going to focus on the SNG 9 MAN KO Turbo format.

Arrived at 2.2K BR to play the $ 11 MTT on the weekends. But continue to build a decent Bankroll with the SNG.

After I must especially enjoy the tables, play all year poker and not just 6-7 months ... Do not be discouraged at the first bad passage and stay calm and keep control of my bankroll.

I will start watching SNG videos and after I will study my game but I will first try to beat the $ 1 SNG 9MAN KO TURBO without further study

Mass multitabling micro stakes usually make no sense really as you wont make much of profit in them anyway. So focus should imo be always on improving your game and if amount of tables will affect that side too much it wont be optimal. Sure you need decent amount of tables to get enough volume but I would aim to keep it in amount that still allow to look for most +EV spots you are able to identify. Overall as rakeback deals have gone worse in many sites it wont make as much sense to aim for multitabling skill improvement.

Also as you use more versatile lines with fever tables those spots start to become easier to recognize. Thus you will be profitable in higher stake games quicker (assuming you have learned well thought habits) and when certain thinking start to come from "muscle memory" you are able to do it with more tables as well. E.g. beginner player might need to think of his open raising range often whereas more experienced one has his default ranges well thought and can focus on reasons to alter them. Same for different spots like postflop experienced player might have pretty clear idea of range he wants to check-raise flop and plan to continue on different sort of turns whereas someone else might be more on level of "hmm this might be ok hand to raise flop".

Often when someone post certain hand he has played and goes through his thinking process its not actually THE way he actually thought during hand. Lot of more standard decisions on hand are done through earlier experience and studying without need to use time for it. Thus he will have time to focus on some other more specific points. Its just that when some experienced player open why he has done something and someone less experienced reads it comments might be something like: "No way I could have thought all that during hand!!". But as I pointed out lot of actions come from muscle memory without focusing on it.

E.g. if you play like 10 tables of 6max sng the time you will have on most decisions are around few seconds. Assuming some might be in 2-3 handed. If you stop to really think about some decision for 5+ seconds it will likely start to cause actions to queue. So especially online poker really is lot about taking advantage of earlier work and aiming to execute it as good as possible. Perhaps I had bad way to explain. Kyyberi has done this sort of content for some videos as well if I remember right.

For example if you feel familiar playing holdem try to change to some other format. Even if you have studied some basic stuff of it there will be likely good amount of hesitation as you dont have much of earlier experience as support. So in same way in holdem studying and improving will open new "aha" moments of new possible lines and in time those will start to become more of default lines.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'much'. I think $5 an hour are still possible at $1s, with less variance than at higher stakes. The purpose of this approach is to earn a viable hourly for an Eastern European living with as little variance as possible. Idk what I'd do if I had to pay Western European rent :f_eek:, but here, microstake poker is a less stressful way of making ends meet than a real job.

But anyway, gaining the ability to earn $5 an hour at first is a confidence booster that allows to play midstakes at fewer tables with less stress because I know I'll still be able to rebuild the BR fast at the micros if the initial midstake shots go wrong.

I'm still going to eventually try midstakes out thoughtfully ($15+ spinmax), but that will be much easier to do after I learn to print money robotically at the micros first ($1-3 KO 9-mans with a tailored Hand2Note HUD highlighting who's covering whom, then $3 spinmax where it's enough to have a good knowledge of the weird stack-distribution-to-equity mapping specific to the non-winner-take all games of that format and the weird exploitative preflop play in the late stage) and the relatives stop nagging me about the lack of a 'stable' source of profit.

To each their own.

PokerStars - 60/120 Ante 15 NL - Holdem - 4 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (CO): 66.08 BB
BTN: 17.39 BB (VPIP: 9.28, PFR: 6.52, 3Bet Preflop: 6.45, Hands: 97)
SB: 24.82 BB (VPIP: 66.67, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 42)
BB: 4.2 BB (VPIP: 21.21, PFR: 16.13, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 66)

4 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2 BB) Hero has Q♥ J♥

Hero raises to 65.96 BB and is all-in, BTN calls 17.27 BB and is all-in, fold, fold

Flop: (36.53 BB, 2 players) K♦ 5♥ 4♦

Turn: (36.53 BB, 2 players) 7♥

River: (36.53 BB, 2 players) 4♥

Hero shows Q♥ J♥ (Flush, Queen High)
(Pre 45%, Flop 29%, Turn 34%)
BTN shows T♠ A♣ (One Pair, Fours)
(Pre 55%, Flop 71%, Turn 66%)
Hero wins 36.53 BB

How can he call with ATo here especially with the short stack behind less than 5BB?

With what hands can call vilan ?

I think that shove 80% of my hands with this short stack to get a maximum of chips.

How? He simply doesn't understand or care about ICM. He probably mainly just thinks that he is ahead of your range. Also SB seems like way bigger candidate for making ICM suicide than BU. In general I would just minraise at least if this was normal non KO sng. I suppose in KO shove make even more sense as if they call we have chance for it and QJs has nice equity.

BU should probably call like JJ+ or so imo. You have such a huge stack also that doubling through you won't increase his stack value that hugely so it might be that even JJ is marginal. But these are easy to check with any ICM tool.

BTN should only call with 99+, and the overly wide range is one of the reasons why they're still a $1 reg :f_biggrin: (The Nash range is a bit wider than in a non-KO 9-man because the ability to win bounties with a medium or large stack makes chip accumulation more valuable.)

If everyone were calling with Nash ranges, you'd be able to shove any 2 cards, but because of the overly wide ranges, you can only shove a 90% range. Note that the bounties make chipleader shoves more profitable than in a non-KO 9-man because the ability to win them is an extra consolation in those rare cases when the shove is called.

On a side note, that ATo caller might be one of those highest volume regs who have a 5-8% ROI at 1s but <5% at 3s, and their VPIPs are low probably not because they've chosen to play intentionally exploitatively but because they simply don't know how to increase their ROI or are too lazy to do it because mass multitabling is a low-hanging fruit (which doesn't mean that there are no ways of increasing the hourly winrate even further; in particular, folding ATo in spots like that is clearly +EV and has a negligibly low impact on the number of decisions per hour and doesn't lower the playable number of tables).

Ouch, according to a Russian community thread, yesterday a software developer (LikeAA, the author of 888-/Party-/StarsCaption) told that Stars had sent him an email requesting to remove some features to comply with the new rules (TBA) coming into effect on March 1.

What's expected to be banned:

  • all game selection software;
  • bet sizing and timing randomisers;
  • HUDs that vary the displayed set of stats according to positions or stack sizes.

RIP, some of the profit :f_cry: Hand2Note's positional HUD will be missed.

What's even sadder is that Unibet's HUSNGs have just been cannibalised by Hexapro and are no longer an obvious substitute for Stars' HU hypers that are slated to RIP once Sharky is banned. My only hope in this regard is that HU Zoom total KO SNGs will finally appear and essentially replace the HU hypers.

(But as for the rest of SNGs, I've overdramatised the change. Actually, HUDs aren't very helpful anyway at soft games where sample sizes are too small on most opponents; off-the-table analysis of each of the few regs and of fish population tendencies is what increases the profit in the easiest way.)

Jivaro is a HUD who according to the flop turn river gives you other info?

Is he touched by these new rules?

Jivaro's street selection functionality will be still allowed because the street (preflop/ flop / turn / river) is selected manually by the user by clicking on a tab. Automatic change of the HUD depending on the street has already been banned at Stars since 2015.

Automatic change of the HUD depending on the position will be disabled in Jivaro at Stars tables to comply with the new rules, I reckon. There will likely be an opportunity to select the position by clicking on a tab similar to the ability to select a street in the current version.

It's back to chain victories! Small problem, all my results are not taken into account in my PT4 report.

Does anyone have a sharkscope account? I would like to have my results this year in SNG Ko 9man Turbo on pokerstars.

Do you have a summary for every SNG played; in other words, do you have the same number of TS files as HH files? If not, try unticking 'Auto-close tournament without notification' in the client (Settings -> Gameplay -> Multi-Tabling) and setting your hotkey tools to wait for 2 or more seconds before they close finished SNGs, to allow the client enough time to generate tourney summaries.

As for the results of the already played tourneys, you can request the playing history audit in the client (Tools -> History & Stats -> Playing History Audit). In order to import the audit into PT4 ('Get Hands From Disk'), you need to request it in the CSV format.

I'm not subscribed to Sharkscope, but when I searched for your screenname and clicked on the 'Leaderboards' tab at the bottom (next to 'Graphs', 'Tournaments', etc.), it told that you were 25th out of 63332 players at $1 9-man turbo KOs on the 'Monthly Realtime SNG Rankings', so I assume that Sharkscope has missed some of these SNGs and thinks that your profit was <$57.

It does track bounties correctly, as seen in the results of your last 10 SNGs, so I think the cause of the problem is the high traffic at $1 KOs and the slowness of Sharkscope's observing computers that miss some of the finished SNGs.
