Now BU will shove 12.2%, 66+ A5s+ A9o+ KTs+ and SB shove 13.0%, 55+ A7s+ A5s A8o+ KJs+.

So basically because of next hand likely allin from CO shove ranges dropped considerably for mid stacks. BU from 19.6%, 55+ A2s+ A7o+ A5o K9s+ KJo+ Q9s+ JTs into 12.2%, 66+ A5s+ A9o+ KTs+ and SB from 25.0%, 55+ A2s+ A5o+ K9s+ KTo+ Q9s+ QTo+ J9s+ JTo T9s into 13.0%, 55+ A7s+ A5s A8o+ KJs+. I would say those are huge differences.

Another common situation where FGS will differ is when coming blinds will hurt your stack considerably. E.g. lets say you are UTG with 5bb. Dropping from 5bb to 3.5bb after blinds will drop your fold equity lot so shoving bit wider from UTG to try and keep your stack alive make sense. Even though in vacuum certain hand would be somewhat -EV to shove. Also in above calculations CO shoving range does widen from 17% into 27%

You may be more familiar with it than you think; you must have been using it without knowing the term. In the late stages of Omaha MTTs, it's ubiquitous, as equities run closer than in Holdem, and at some point, it becomes -EV for a midstack to get it in with AA** because of the bubble factor, so maintaining a large enough stack and preventing oneself from being blinded out is more important than immediate odds in the current hand and forces one to take slightly -EV flip opportunities to prevent massively -EV future spots.

FGS is actually far less relevant in plain non-KO SnGs (except when the effective stack goes under ~7 bb) than in non-Holdem MTTs/SnGs, where it's necessary near the bubble and ITM even in 30 bb stacks.

And yes, exact FGS is nearly impossible to do during play, but you can just ask yourself what you expect to happen in the next few hands (like being blinded out, or seeing another short stack bust, or the opportunity to pwn the bubble if you double up); the answer to this question will give you the general direction (loosening / tightening) in which you need to deviate from ICM Nash.

Here's a classical example of tightening up due to FGS, the FT of a $1 36-man super-KO with 6 places paid but a very flat payout structure*, with extreme bubble factors when 4-8 players are left. Without FGS, HRC would likely give a rather loose range for me to limp all-in, but my right neighbour would be blinded all-in in 2 hands and be bounty-hunted by a crowd of limpers (incl. myself on a wide range because I'd be ahead in chips and be placed 5th if a third party won the main pot).

Looks like the jump from ICM to FGS isn't such a big one after all. I guess I shouldn't have too much trouble adjusting to it, once I fully understood the concepts behind it.

I won't be able to make it to the live coaching stream next week - I hope it will be recorded?

In the meantime, I have signed up for the free trial version of ICMIZER, maybe I can start getting used to it while I'm still figuring out whether grinding SNGs is a good option for me.

Unless an emergency happens, the recording will be stored on the Twitch channel for a few days until it's posted in the Pokerstrategy video section. Most likely, the video will have the Basic status (be available to all members) like it happened with the Zach Elwood and Barry Carter episodes and generally happens with 'small talk' coachings that aren't dedicated to the analysis of hand histories or live play. If Dara O'Kearney chooses to grind high-stake MTTs on the stream with advanced analysis, though, then the video might receive a higher status, so it's safer to hurry to watch the Twitch recording while it's there.
