I would check flop but easy fold as played. You have one great card on deck.

You dont really get better hands to fold with single bet (not necessarily even KT, QT) and hand like this wont make sense as double barrel. So I would prefer to check from position and try to get into showdown with decent showdown value.

You have got SD value, unless the enemy a maniac callingstation or notorius bluff player no make sense to firing on flop, the only combos you beat are standing further with good equities. Good card for big pots, weak cards for small pots and u will never get into trouble. Such flops are the worst for barreling btw. so just check and try to go SD, or call one street on turn or river if it necessary.

Interesting...I'm almost always cbeting 3rd pair on A high flops. Do you check any pair on this board or just higher pocket pairs like 88+ ?

I would check this from position versus anyone. You just want to check some Ax, Jx also for balance. Also I would cbet once with those small pockets and just try to get something to fold. But benefit of it is lot smaller with 99 as it's not really guaranteed if fish fold any broadway hand to cbet anyway. Plus if we cbet those small pockets we can get sometimes bit bigger pocket to fold.

I would in general assume villain to be recreational 90+% of time as most regs probably don't do early position open limping in these?
