AK vs regular in 3bet pot(OOP)

I wouldn't fold this on the flop. He can raise with wo many draws. Of course you might be beat some tikes by AJ, A9 but AK the s too strong to fold tight away. I don't like the turn rcheck raise though. Tje 8 brings some of his draws and you isolate yourself vs better hands... He might not even call AQ here anymore which is one of the only hands you beat. I'd check call and probably fold to another bet on the river.

Aarrgg I hate spots like these. I think I would just make a weak fold on the flopraise. He could be on a draw or some weak(-er) ace, but do I really want to stick my stack in here? nope. Calling makes us potcommited so I prefer shoving above calling.

You have a lot of hands on him and he has never reraised your cbet on the flop after a 3bet. He is also reasonably tight. So we can assume he has something.

"Something" may include any 2 pair, set, QT, T8, AK, AQ, most of which beats you. I am tossing this on flop or turn. It's sad, but his stats are screaming value line.

Flop is a call. I use a 30% to 40% range bet strategy OOP in 3b pots as the aggressor, so my bet would be smaller here. Solver will advocate a larger size, but that assumes optimal vs optimal play. Betting smaller allows up to bet/call on flops more often and draw for a better price those times we are behind here.

Turn is a check/fold when they start piling $$$$ in draw completing cards. 8's, Q's, T's and to a lesser degree, 7's are quite bad for you in this instance. Not only due to them filling many draws, but Q/T also fill two pair.

well this flop raise from this kind of player is pretty strong. He has got lots of 2pair and str8 in his range. I call the flop raise and let go on the turn if he bets.

Yes, folding.
I want that flop. I don't want him to reraise; I prefer him to call.
My plan is to to make money vs. worse hands and not pay off his set with my pair.

thats the pain and the luck of BSS poker. You want that you hand fits in your predestined plan for the hand. If no than you have to guess whats wrong. If you play shorter in stack size you have less decisions. If I had less than ~50bb in this hand most of the time I just go broke on the flop vs recreationals because I would expect them to do this with enough worse hands. In this hand its different because you have more room or streets to play.
