Is this really a nh as played? Aren't we committing almost 1/2 a stack PF with a likely dominated hand? Are we going to hit enough flops to make up for our preflop equity sacrifice? Is folding/shoving PF a reasonable alternative?

I thought this an easy PF muck (until I read the replies) since it looks like someone with the aces is able to get half his stack in (PF).

folding pre is not an option against what is most likely aces (due to odds and equity). shoving is also not that great as we want to keep the pot multiway to give us better odds.
