Nice run

I had a final table of a 5.50$ turbo PKO.
Was really fun. 2.1k people. Had a lot of luck.

Started the final table short stack then this happened.

after that, I got AA in a good timing

But then I got a small bad beat for a very big pot.

After that, lost a couple hands without hitting anything.

Then AK>AJ to take a player out.

And then I lost a mega pot AK < KK

Then double up AJ > QK

Finally busted of the tournament 5th when the super short stack tripled up and robbed me off 70$ USD by blinding out.....

I reshoved vs a min btn raise with QTs, it was 40% / 60% sadly I didn'T get there.

Oh well strill a good run 139.35 + 159.61$ for a 5.50$ Buyin, I guess I should stick to lower buyins, seems like I get better results. :f_drink:

Take care everyone.

April Recap

Let's talk some overall 2020 recap first
February 2020 : +3.500$ (The start of my new quest)
March 2020 : -1.016$ (Back to reality)

April 2020 : +763.38$ (Maybe I know a little bit of what i'm doing?)
Volume for April : 170

Total volume in 2020 : Around 600-700 Tournaments ranging from 1.10$ to 210$ (the 210$ was the sunday million anniversery that I got tickets for.) Too little volume in tourney poker to know if i'm a profitable player but I am enjoying the ride.

April...It was a real rollercoster month. After getting a big cash at the start of the month, I had multiple 100$ + losing days which made it a bit hard mentally. Thank god I was able do a good finish at the end of the month to stop the bleeding and finish with a decent profit.

Here's the graphic :

The goals :
:spade: Play 200 MTTs tournament - Range 3$ to 16.50$ - Sometimes 20$ ones - Failed, mostly the volume goals, for the buys in I dont think it matters to much if I play over 16.50$
 Keep review hands in the hand forums and posts the hands im not too sure about - I felt like i've been doing ok at this and people are helpful. - Yep still posting some hands...Its nice to have some advices
:diamond: Try to not lose 500$ (lul) - Yep, managed to not have another 1k lost
:club: Sat into a sunday million again - Oh, I forgot about this one, Failed.

Health goals :
:spade: 45 minutes of stationary bike at home at least 3 times a week - Failed, allergies and other healht conditions made it hard to train this month but I tried my best. Did some very long walk and I plan maybe on trying to run this month.
:diamond: Practice mindfulness - Welp, not really.
:club: Not play under bad emotions otherwise trainwreck. - I feel like it was half ok this month, I didn't throw any tournament like in March.

THE RUN GOOD BE WITH YOU...LUL

Ah May,
The first wave of Covid is slowy passing...
The heat is coming back....
We are getting through this....
People are starting to understand....
Let's not give up.

(I do realize there's a lot of Covid talk in this blog, what can you say, it's my reality now, I'm working in the city with the most cases in Canada as a community pharmacist so yea, it affects me. Welp anyways it's my blog so I could talk about tigers having sex if I felt like it.)

----
Back to poker talk and goals. I feel like I am getting more aware of my ideal numbers of table, time to play, amount to play etc, so it's good. Let's set us some goals for May.

On a side note, the brother of my wife has been making homegames tournaments with family and friends..I have been shipping a lot of those..kinda feeling bad because they are totally not on my level...

Poker goals

A♥: Play 175 MTT - Any stakes -( I am removing the limits of my buys in because I will mostly play between 3$ and 20$ but I will def take some shots at higher stakes sometimes for the lulz)
2♠: Watch 2 coaching MTT session or video
3♦: Not lose over 500$
4♣: Satelitte or Spin and go my way into a 100$+ tournament.

So if any of you are actually reading - you will know that I played some Spin and goes for 4$ and won 3 x 11$ and 1 x 22$ tickets with them. Therefore I will be playing quite a lot of SCOOP this year. As I am typing this I already started with SCOOP-05, early on I doubled up with AA > KK so we see what's gonna happens..

SCOOP related goals :

A♦: Cash in at least 2 events.
2♠: Stay calm and patient.
:3x: Play a 55$ + event ( eeither with my own money or satellite in)

Hope I have more success than in the turbos series!

Health goals

Thoses are a bit more boring but you know...

A♣: Do any types of exercices at least 4 x a week
2♦: Find some weights somewhere to work out...a bar + weights
3♠: Do not catch Covid, protect yourself and think about desinfecting your shoes, glasses phones etc..

That's it for my May goals people, don't hesitate to hit me up on pokerstrategy to talk or whatever.
Also, if you are interesting in buying some of my scoop action for higher stakes let me know.

Take care everyone.

Edit : Thanks Vorpal, I was writing the post :)

SCOOP and early May update.

Sooo, things haven't been doing well for my first couple of may session. Big losing sessions.

Only thing worth mentionning is I finished 339/21721 players in SCOOP-14-L 11$ for 70$ ..Busted QK vs AA ..AA Raises on BTN...I have 20 bb left on BB...you know the rest...So close to day two ( I played for 8 hours!..still proud of the result.)

Oh well, 7 x my payout. If this was a 109$ tournament it would of been 700$ ;).

Make sure you buy some action of my 109 tournament next week!

Take care everyone.

So today wasn't a bad day.

Made a final table on 888, it's always nice. I play once in a while there, so it's fun to cash sometimes.

Close to the bigger payout, but still a nice run. God I love tournament days when I made it to final tables.

SCOOP

Played 2 events today -

Mincashed in the 5.50$ PKO event....got into a weird bvb situation and dumped my stack ..

Busted the 22$ SCOOP-26-L 50 minutes from day 2 in 2 quick hands...Lost 77<55 he hits his 5. (All in pre bvb)
Same guy called me A9 vs 66 next hand and hits his 9...There I was out.
574/10661..still a good result.

Anyways couple of things about today

[*] First winning day of May.
[*] 2nd and 3rd cash of SCOOP ( around 5-6 tourneys total SCOOP so far I think)
[*] Wife invested 5$ in my 22$ SCOOP tournament...since I cashed 59.16$ she gets 13.44$ !

You too, can make money if you decide to stake me, there's 19$ left in my 109$ SCOOP for friday, still covid free so it should happens. (Look a staking forum for more details.)

Were also gonna play the SCOOP tickets freeroll on sunday, should be fun.

New SCOOP GOAL
: Make it day 2 for one tournament!! Hopefully the 109$ Friday!!!

Take care everyone.

SCOOP update

Sadly we didn't cash in the 109$ event we played. I had to take 1 day off before writing in my blog because I was tilted.

I was playing a very good tournament and we were like 100 away from the money, I wanted to play conservative but I ended up getting ak vs UTG raise. I didn't want to play in a huge pot so I decided not to 3 betted it but it was probably my first mistake.

Flop came A24 with 2 spade. (Ace of spade)

Villain was cbetting 33% of the pot and I just called - that was probably my second mistake, a raise here would of been a good idea but villain was very aggro and im quite sure he would of called a raise since he had nut flush draw...but who knows.

Flush made it on the turn.
Villain checked which made it look odd considering he was quite aggro I betted half pot and villain min raised me...This is where I should of folded...

I thought about it long and hard and I decided to shove and go snap called by K8s of spade and threw away hours of good grinding, luck and good playing.

That run was particulary frustrating for me because I really wanted to make my investor happy and if I didn'T misplay that hand I would definally make it to the money. I doubt we see him min raise with AJ AQ here, maybe what made me shove was the fact that the A of spade was out there and I was hoping he was on a single spade draw.

Anyways, if you guys look at my rail thread, I did have a blast and had some run good. You can see all my different emotions and I was good in stack size the whole tournament ( I dont think I even fell under 20 BB at all)

Also got to play with bencb a bit at the start of the tournament but didn't get involved in any hands with him.

Here's the rail thread if you guys want a good read Rail thread for 109

...

I also played the 11$ event yesterday which I busted also close to the money.
I have to say these events are really tough on the focus because you spend hours looking at your screen, so you have to be top shape when you play them.
This is why I prefer turbos / hyper turbos...More variance, more push and fold, but faster.

Anyways..I might ask for a stake again for the future but it would be for a bunch of tournament so I can give a 1-1 or 1.1-1 MU but maybe not for the SCOOP but some other events.

--

On a side note, May isn'T going well at all. Welp, a 109$ event puts a big dent into a graph when you lose. Already down 500$ for may so far, we will need to hit something soon and not play like an idiot...

Take care everyone.

(It's freaking cold here and it's may..we had some snow this morning...what the hell...that and the city of Montreal is like hell of Covid and this is where I work...geez...)

I was streaming for most of the $109 run, and saw several really nice spots, and you played really well all the time I was watching.

I hope you don't mind but I replayed some of your hands on the stream.

Next time!

Update

Played a decent amount of tournament today.
Busted in pretty much all of them.
Worst part about it is I don't think I played bad, just lots of bad luck.
I didn't even tag any hands for reviews because it was kinda straight forward. I'm definaly on a downswing right now, im like down 1k for May. It seems like a lot but I played a 109$ and a 55$ tournament which I didn'T cash so it goes fast. Almost my buysin are averaging 15-20$ so it's not that many buy ins. I could play lower buyins but it's just not as exciting for me, I don't mind playing the lower 4-5$ turbos tho.

I might try to do more studying if I feel like it..but i'm having fun anyways and wit hthe title of this blog you might see me lose all my BR pretty fast in those MTTs, well see. Just hope I dont burn my over 4k winnings of 2020.

I had one winning day in May so far haha! 15$ WIN

Take care everyone.

Oh and for my SCOOP recap, Busted out of 11$ tourney today.

Hello eeveryone!
Sorry about the lack of updates.

I have been going out more doing big walks with the wife since nice time came out with the sun.
Last couple of SCOOP sessions made me salty a bit, so I took a short break, and also been pretty busy at life.

Still pretty down for may, ill try to get couple more session before the end of the month, specially since SCOOP was extended. Gonna do one more full SCOOP day but it's harder with nice days ahead and stuff.

On a site note, me and the wife watched Fintan (easywithaces on twitch) take down scoop 69 (noice) by doing a call any on the heads up, it was an insane poker moment.

Also, pokerstars giving chest to ppl watching twitch, pretty worth it.

I will let you guys know if anything good happens until the end of june.

For real life s tuff, montreal still looking like shit, covid everywhere, just trying to survive,

Take care ppl :f_wink::f_wink:

Hello everyone,

Played some omaha while drunk during the weekend and made a decent amount. ...lots of fishes around, but it can work two ways.

So there's a heat wave here, good time to stay inside and play some poker.
Sadly things didn't go too well again today.
We played the SCOOP 5.50 (With a ticket we won from Twitch) and lost .
We lost many side tournaments beside SCOOP.

We played the 55$ PKO event, we had a good start and made 50$ in bounties but sadly lost of couple of important pots close to the money and we didn't make it.

Today SCOOP recap :
60$ buyins
50 $ bounties
lost 10$

Been doing more hours at work, hard to keep up with the poker, probably gonna try to play a last scoop session.

May recap!

This is why you follow bankroll kid, may has been a very tough poker month for me.
I took many shots at SCOOP and higher buys in and it didn't go too well...

Let's do a SCOOP review :
Number of tournament : 9
Number of cashs in : 4
ITM % : 44%
Number of day 2 : 0 :(

Thoughts about SCOOP : Overall I am a bit loser money wise in the SCOOP., because most of my cashes were mincashes and they were also in the smaller amount buyins. Sadly I played 2 x 55$ tournament and one 109$ and didn't make the money. Really had a blast in the 109$ when I thought I was gonna make a lot of money for people.

My other thoughts is that I give big props to people grinding SCOOPs. It is so hard with the beautiful weather coming here to stay home and grind all day many days in a row, specially if you have a bad run. I was watching easywithaces on twitch which has been grinding pretty much every SCOOP day and god he is crazy courageous and has a lot of staminas. Gonna have to work on that if I want to become a good mtt player.

May graph :

Yep, big big losing month. -1.1k

Analysis : Yes it was a big losing month but you include there 50x 2 + 109 = that's already 200$ for 3 tournaments. I played a lot of 22$ tournaments as well in SCOOP and around scoop like the hot 22$.
This has taught me that I will have to be more careful in June with BRM...I know that the title says no BRM but it's fake new :f_tongue: Nobody can have many losing 1k month in a row without going insane so I am coming with a new strategy for June that I will post here.

I had literally ONE winnning day in may for 15$ , it's rough, it's also why my volume was so low.

Let's review the goals :

Poker goals
--------------------------------------------------------
A♥: Play 175 MTT - FAILED - Nice weather + Busy with life + bad run = less volume
2♠: Watch 2 coaching MTT session or video FAILED, yea dont really have a reason for that one
3♦: Not lose over 500$ LUL
4♣: Satelitte or Spin and go my way into a 100$+ tournament. That didn't happens, the biggest I won is 22$ buy in ticket

SCOOP related goals :

A♦: Cash in at least 2 events. Success
2♠: Stay calm and patient. Yea, I can call that a success, it was rough the 9-10 hours days tho
:3x: Play a 55$ + event Did play, but failed to win

Health goals

A♣: Do any types of exercices at least 4 x a week Successish? I walk at least 4 times a week 5k walk I guess we can consider it exercice?
2♦: Find some weights somewhere to work out...a bar + weights Failed, didn't go buy weights
3♠: Do not catch Covid, protect yourself - I don't think I got it but it's definally crazy around here...

----------------------------------------------------

Ok, here come the June goals post after

So last month wasn't great, it had me thinking, do I want to keep playing MTTs? Do I want to quit this blog and everything? Then I realize I can't quit, I love MTTs , they have so much variance, I just need to adapt. Here's my goals for June :

Poker goals
A♦: Play 175 MTTs
2♦: Watch 2 poker videos
3♦: Not lose over 500$
4♦: Satellite my way into a 100$+ tournament
5♦: Do not play over 12$ tournement under any circumstance (except four)

Poker strategy for June : I will be increasing my volume and reducing my buys in . I will play from 1$ to 11$ buy in maximum, I will also be playing some 90 and 180 mans at lower level, let's see how that goes. I will not be going crazy with bankroll this month, no shot taking, no tournament im not used to. I will also include more regular tournaments, will try to 6-8 tables when I play.

Health goals
A♠: Keep walking 5ks at least 4-5 times a week
2♠: Try to build a muscle routine with items in the house or my two 20 pounds dumbells...
3♠: Try not to catch covid ...

Covid : The situation is finally getting a bit better in Montreal but not so much in the area I work at. It seems like that highly suggesting people to wear masks did reduce the transmission. I am quite upset with some of my patients coming in the pharmacy while they have symptoms, I do have PPE (mask + glass + plexiglass) but this very is so contagious you never know...so far so good I think? But I am coming accross more and more cases within my patients. Of course the patients that are coughing everywhere are the ones without the masks....
