VS

I don´t say it exactly that way but I just politely tell the customer that he or she has to pay for additional service :profit:

I'm glad.
It is so easy when you're in private business to fall into the trap of letting customers take advantage of your good nature.

Ugly tennis :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly:

As said: It´s competition season and I can´t grind the next 3 Saturdays, cause competing in tennis. Today was a really hot day and as I´m not a fan of hot weather, I didn´t really play my A-tennis. But it was enough. Actually, I played a pretty ugly tennis, just bringing the balls back and let Villain make the mistake. Really ugly tennis. My oppontent just brought every f... ball back and my hyper aggro moves didn´t really work out today.

So, I used another strength which I have in tennis: endurance! So, brought every ball back too and waited ...patiently until she made the mistake cause she got tired. She was down, she was exhausted .......... I was not! _evil:

The result speaks for itself: 7:5, 6:0.

In the second set she lost endurance. I did not. _evil:_biggrin:_cool:

Ugly tennis, bad play, but won anyway. :sifflote:

I'm not sure if ugly wins count in tennis.
I could be wrong though...
They sure count in poker though.
What a raquet!

Aaaaw, what a cute puppy, Vorpal!

Yes my tennis was indeed just ugly because I normally HATE playing that way. But I did it in order to defeat my opponent. _ugly:

Hate it or not, it appears it was the correct way to play.
Kinda like heads-up on the FT where you know villain is in a timezone where it's 04:00 and it's 17:00 where you are _biggrin:

In more important news, the puppy is full grown (or could be) it is a Teacup Poodle.
Our friend had one for a while. She would carry it all around in her jacket pocket.

Solid play! _smile:

Well, not poker, but solid tennis! Competed again today and took poor Villainesse down 6:0, 6:0.

In doubles Homer and I won with a solid 6:2, 6:1. _thumbsup:_cool:

The dark side of todays competitions: a little injury in my arm. _mad:_frown: Feels like a pulled muscle in my right arm. Nothing really bad but gotta be careful now, two more competitions ahead and I wanna play and crush!

So gonna skip my Tuesday-practice next week and exercise very carefully on Wednesday.

Keep your fingers crossed that my arm will heal quicky, guys! _thumbsup:

Out of breath ....

Yes, guys, yesterday I was completely breathless on the tennis court. I met a hyper-aggro tennis player like me in singles, but about 5 classes above me. So, what happened was that we played a very interesting, exciting game, while I became totally out of breath, my endurance was put to the test, my muscles too and soon in the game I realized that I was pretty much at my limit. Alrighty, so decided to just play my best tennis, push myself to the limit and do what I can. Eventually I couldn´t make it but we put on a very cool show to those who watched us play. Even though I couldn´t win this one (2:6, 2:6), it was a very good and fun game which pushed me to the limit. Afterwards I was happy and proud of my game. Okay, today, my legs feel very heavy, I´m totally exhausted and got some sour muscles :mdr: ... I will definitely spend today comfy on the couch :f_ugly::f_ugly:

Anyway, got better news from doubles: Even though Villains were very strong, Homer and I could closely win the match, 4:6, 6:2, and 10:6 in the match-tie-break (we play match-tie-break instead of a 3rd set). While I think I played singles well, I am not happy with my doubles-play: too many unforced errors which really got me annoyed and angry but managed not to curse loudly on the court. :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly: In the first set I sucked, got better in the second and somehow pulled myself together one more time of the match tie break.

Today, I´m not good for anything but the couch :f_ugly: but maybe I find some energy to play some poker? Let´s see..... :f_ugly:

I would love to see one of your tennis matches some day, and it looks like this one would have been a great pick. :f_grin:

Well done pushing through! And now enjoy some well-deserved relaxation.

Gives a whole new meaning to "dog tired"

Well done Prim!

Was the doubles match before or after the singles?
Either way, the one would have an effect on the other.

In tennis, is there nothing you can do to slow down the pace of the game and reduce an aggro player's advantage?

Vorpal, doubles is always after the singles and when I played doubles of course I was totally tired from singles, so I sucked in the first set. I tried to slow down the pace, yes, my returns were precise, long line - Villainesse got them! I played long and short balls - Vilainesse got them! I tried to force Villainaisse to make a mistake by playing left and right and long and short, let her run like crazy, she got them all! Or it was me who made the mistake. I got her sometimes with good stop balls, I slowed the balls down by performing slices, but ...... not much of that helped. Meanwhile she was sending me to the left, to the right, again and again, even "ugly tennis" (bringing everything back and playing lobs) didn´t work out, so okay, after a while I decided to just play my best tennis and have fun: Cannot do more ....

Todays tennis practice ....

...looked like this:

Okay, I mostly look like this at the end of the competition-season. But today I really wished I could have stayed comfy on the couch eating chips.:rage:

Needless to say that I sucked at tennis today :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly: ...and tomorrow got tennis practice too :rage:

Saturday will be the last competition and then it´s soon off-season. I noticed that I don´t have that much endurance this year. I miss swimming which was not possible due to Corona restrictions. :rage: Oh how I miss endurance sports. _cry: Anyway, Saturday: last competition!

As this is actually not a tennis blog but a PLO-blog _ugly: : Poker news will come soon. Just let me get this week behind me _ugly:

Was just coming to ask if you have had time to pot outside of tennis court at all?

The mental game of tennis ...(or so..)....

So, now! This should be my last tennis-post until we address the actual topic of this blog, which is poker. Today we had our last competition. I was already tired and exhausted and didn´t expect much but .... when the Adrenalin is flowing through your blood.. there comes your energy. In singles I could manage to win with a solid 6:1, 6:2 _cool:_thumbsup:_drink:.

We don´t wanna talk about how I f... up three match balls and screamed loudly! :f_ugly::sifflote:

Doubles got a bit more "complicated", though.

Homer and I were both exhausted when we started the doubles. Well ... it showed . The first set we lost 1:6. Oh boy! :rage: Didn´t look good for us. But in the second set we managed to pull ourselves together and fought hard! We won the second set 7:6 (7:5)!

It was really a very hard match and everybody lost their nerves once in a while. After I had made a couple of idiot unforced errors I couldn´t help screaming loudly

F@#´+!!!!!

:f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly:

So then: match tie break. And again the Adrenalin was flowing, I mobilized my very last energy. It was again a very hard fight, but we showed stamina and that got rewarded: 10:8 win in the match tie break and we won the doubles after 2,5 hours 1:6, 7:6 (7:5), 10:8. :nh::banana:

So, and that´s it with the competitions.

A very nice season but my body .......... :rage::rage: ...let´s not talk about my maltreated body :rage::sifflote:
