I do stuff like this early in my session.
Then I settle down.

It seems to me (not that I know much about NLHE) but out of two overplayed hands, villain got lucky.

I'm curious to read what the real experts think though...
Cheers,

look at your range. count the value combos, you have in that spot w that line, determine the bluffing range and see wether your specific hand is in there or not. prefer blockers as A♦ Q♣ -one of your best bluffs- would get more folds, reducing villains AK, KQ, QJ and flushes while allowing him to hold more BD flushes as well.

Flop is probably a check.

I usually bet the Turn vs most but vs top opponents who have a balanced check/raising range I may check this some of the time.

As played you have to bluff most, if not all of your heart draws. You don't really have too much other air hands.

After this showdown, take note that this guy plays some of his draws with a double-check-call and perhaps u cannot attack him on flush runouts as much as you could against others.

I think a more aggressive player like myself will have way fewer hands that could take this double check-call line.

So if we x behind and the turn bricks and he checks again, are you double barreling?

How come you check this with backdoor hearts?
Does villian have too many combos that he will be floating with?
Trying to get my head around it.

I would cbet 1/3p with the bdfd the K is good for our range it's not terrible for for villains range either but we do have fold equity and the turn we can either barrel or check back to take some free equity.

So this would be my value range

so calculate the pot odds for villain, establish how often he has to be good to make the call.

then you have got your optimal bluffing frequency.

count your value combos, add the best bluffs and thats it.

Ok thanks.

Villian has 62.2 to win a pot of 202.
roughly 3.2 to 1. so 32% is what he needs to win to break-even.

I'm not sure what this means in terms of how we construct our bluffing range.

you have to win 68%. so your bluffing% is 32.

you have 17 combos of value. so many combos are you allowed to bluff ?

So 17 x 32 ÷ 100 = 5.4 combos?
Is that on top of our 17 combos then. So it's 22 in total?
God I'm lost.

Not the right maths, if you bluff 5/22 combos you bluff 23% :)

Solution:

Spoiler

You know 17 is 68% of the total, so total combos is 17/0.68 = 25. Number of bluffs combos is 25*0.32 = 8.

If you have Equilab then you can try various scenarios to see how many combos in each category there are. There are several similar programs, but Equilab is simple to use and free.

now pick the 8 best combos and see, if A2s is in there. (oh, well, its not.)

so you should now look, what your initial number of bluff combos were and how much you are overbluffing.
