Well, yes it is quite early, but I was given to believe I would need to shave my beard before my dental surgery this coming Saturday.

I'm going to try to avoid that.

So since I have some time, we postponed[1] the Santa visit for now.

[1] btw, did you know that in India, prepone is quite a legit word

Rest in peace for your mom VorpalF2F and SamoB25. Here in the Netherlands the limit is around 30 if I'm right for a funeral.

Thanks SDK1987,
We received new orders yesterday -- we now can have a mere 10 people at the funeral -- and that includes the officiant.
It seems such a shame.

It will be more than a month since she passed away, and that already seems like a long delay for a funeral.
I'll talk to the minister today to see what can be done.

And it hits close to home.

Mrs Vorpal's boss's wife's boss has tested positive.
So her boss needs to isolate.
But he has been in contact with Mrs Vorpal several times this week.

We're on edge here -- if the boss's wife is positive, we're going to have to get tested.

We got tested today, Vorpal. We were abroad for my father-in-laws funeral. He died from COVID but had several and serious illnesses already.

So, we had to get tested today morning and of course hope we are negative.

And so do we all, Prim!
I won't need to be tested unless the boss's wife is positive.

Remember:
Stay positive! Test negative!

I do this every year, but this year, Santa will have a mask...

My condolences to you sir. I appreciate you for giving your time to the kids in your area and be a Santa Claus for them (they really need positive attention these days as so are we). I can't wait to see your uploads while wearing that santa suit. :)

We missed our chance!
We decided to postpone the event until the 15th, but before that could happen, the studio was shut down since the owner's wife was possibly exposed to the virus.

However...

I have to get it all tidied up today, since the beard somehow gets in the dentist's way when she's pulling teeth.
She had to give up part way through last week because the freezing wore off.

Oh wow! I'm sold with you Santa Vorpal! All you need is probably more hairs in your beard, you may use a wig one if you like. After that, I can no longer recognize you for sure!

It is strange that I can only have 10 people at my Mum's funeral -- including the minister, the funeral director and one other staff member, yet there were at least that many all crammed into the Dentist's office on Saturday last.

And yesterday my bank called me in to discuss my line of credit.
Surely that isn't so important I need to go in to the branch?

The inconsistencies are rather annoying...

We get in the Netherlands in a harder lockdown tommorrow to try to decrease the infections. Only supermarkets stay open most likely. We have now around 10k infections per day and our population is around 17,3 million.

The gov't of BC has taken the approach of leaving commerce open, but trying to restrict in-person gatherings of people who don't live together.
Mrs Vorpal is making all sorts of excuses about why we can have our kids and grandkids at our house for Christmas.

Technically, only one of that group ever goes outside, and then only to work, and at work they all wear masks, and we are in regular contact with the others for shopping trips.
