Ok guys it's time for an update which I'm not proud over.

Since my last post I continued to play on NL50 and had some bad beats such as AA all in preflop vs KK, flop K, QQ all in vs JJ, flop J, flopping set vs flush draw all in on the flop, river flush and so on.
On top of that I also started to play some hands really bad so during the last week I lost over 700$ mainly on cash game. I also tried to play some zoom games, which I know I'm not beating and lost about 150$ there.

There are definately some hands which I think I could have played better. Like this one for instance. Even though I have trips and he's a huge whale, there is no reason for me to call the overbet shove on the river, the pot was only 20$ no reason to risk another 71$ for me. I need to learn and let go of these hands when it happens like this. Here is the hand:
PokerStars - $0.50 NL - Holdem - 7 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG: 157.74 BB
UTG+1: 107.54 BB
MP: 105 BB
CO: 356.2 BB
Hero (BTN): 162.42 BB
SB: 213.8 BB
BB: 377.66 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has K♣ Q♠

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, SB calls 2.5 BB, BB calls 2 BB

Flop: (9 BB, 3 players) 3♥ 9♣ K♠
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets 5.14 BB, fold, BB calls 5.14 BB

Turn: (19.28 BB, 2 players) 5♦
BB checks, Hero bets 11 BB, BB calls 11 BB

River: (41.28 BB, 2 players) K♦
BB bets 358.52 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 143.28 BB and is all-in

BB shows 3♦ K♥ (Full House, Kings full of Threes)
(Pre 26%, Flop 70%, Turn 80%)
Hero shows K♣ Q♠ (Three of a Kind, Kings)
(Pre 74%, Flop 30%, Turn 20%)
BB wins 323.84 BB

Below is my cashgame graph from the dates 20201206 to 20201213. I lost about 500$ on cashgame and another 200$ on MTTs.
It's really hard when you lose so much in one week, but I will not give up and just keep trying to grind it back and improve on my game.

However the last 2 days has been good and I've decided to stick with nl25 now until I have about 45 to 50 buyins for NL50. The last 2days are looking promising and I made 329$ so far.

My current BR as we speak is now 2375$
Loss since last post -375$

Ok I know I said I wasn't gonna play NL50 until I had a bigger BR but I couldn't help myself when I saw a lot of fishes on NL50 so I decided to play some today. It was a really good session where I made 302$, putting my BR up to 2581$. I think I will continue to play NL50, especially since I'm rolled for it now with 50BIs, I'm just gonna try to play my A-game and I'll be fine. Hope you're also having a good weekend! :f_drink:

Very nice -- if you had a $2279 bankroll, that should be plenty for NL 50 even with conservative BRM

Keep calm and carry on! _drink:_thumbsup:

Ok guys I have now completed the challenge. I decided to take a shot in the 22$ sat to the hot 215$ Prog knockout mtt.
I did ran quite good and managed to get 2nd for 3590$

My bankroll is now slightly over 6000$ and that will end the challenge, I'm still playing on NL50 and will probably continue to do that for a while even though I'm rolled for NL100. I don't know what my next step will be now really.

Anyway this has been my best poker year ever! I hope that you are also having a great new year, take care everybody! :f_drink:

Congrats man! and well ... happy new year. :-)

If u are feeling well in mtts and u have the time to put in the volume I really feel it is the way to go.
If u bust out early and no really good mtts are availible u can still play NL50.

I did it the other way around -- When I had earned a tournament buy-in playing cash, I would enter the MTT

Whichever way it goes, once you win your first big score you're set...

Thanks and happy new year to you too! :)

Yes I will try to play more MTTs, however the problem for me is that I have 2 small kids and it's hard to shcedule when to play mtts and I very rarely can play for 8 - 12 hours in a row. Therefore I think I will focus on these turbo mtts which takes about 4 hours if you make the final table.
Yes you're right, so I'm gonna continue to play NL50, I did take a shot on NL100 but it didn't go my way so I lost 1000$ there and then I moved back to NL50 again. I will probably wait until I have 70BBs for NL100 or so until I try again. Do you play MTTs incog?

Yes I like that Idea vorpal, that's how I also used to do it, but I hate to buy in directly to MTTs at least the bigger ones so I prefer to sat in to the bigger ones with the chance to hit big or get a bigger knockout. I mean if there is an MTT that costs 1.1$ I'm not gonna sat into it but if there is one for 109$ I don't have the BR to do the straight buy in and I don't like to do a direct buy in so I rather sat in using an 11$ sat.

Yes, this was my biggest score so far, previously it was 880$ so now it was 3591$ which I'm really happy about. The only thing I'm not happy about was how I played the HU game in the end where I basically threw away 2400$ for no reason but I will try to improve.
I will actually have a session streamed on twitch wtih a pokerpro reviewing the hands from that 215$ mtt so hopefully I can learn something from that.
By the way what's your biggest score on MTTs and which buyins do you normally play?

Thanks vorpal and the same to you! :f_drink:
