Is Pokerstars scamming my money?

Hello,

I am new to Poker and try to play online from Cambodia. I registered my pokerstars account last year. And I didn't have time to play. I just start playing last week. So I log in back to my account and found out that my account is freeze and need verification to reactivate. I follows all the instruction from pokerstars by send them my ID and Electricity bill which are in my local language. After couple of hours, they send me the email to confirm that I am verified.

So I decide to make 20$ deposit. After playing few days, I feel like my poker skill level is still low because I always got outplayed. So I decide to step back, and learn more on poker. I request withdrawal of 7$ of my bankroll. Which is the money left from my first deposit.

After I requested, my account is freeze and I have to do the verification again. But this time because of my ID and Electricity bill is in my local language need to translate to English which I have to pay 20$ more to do so. I am really confuse when this happen.

So, does Pokerstars try to scam my 7$ money?

The ID verification is normal.
I don't have experience with doing the ID verification process in languages that aren't English, but it sounds reasonable.

All poker rooms have a requirement that when you deposit, you must play for a certain amount before you can withdraw.

Hello tewtew,

it is standard procedure to verify your account before withdrawing.

You learned it the hard way and now you will know, that when you open an account somewhere, you will need to provide these documents.

In fact, if I was you, I would use these translated documents and open accounts on all of the sites you can.

So this is definitely not a scam.

Actually I remember changing my address when I was in Thailand and I sent the documents in Thai. But the difference was, that my account was already verified and I just needed to change the address.

Hey man

Don't worry. It happened twice with me and they already had my Id and other details, so if you take longer breaks then ask for cash out they do this as a standard procedure and you will soon get your money.
