I played the regular $0.20 Scholars Leader Board tournaments and the Special Romanian tournaments.

Profit: -$ 10.04

* I still have 5 x $1.10 tournament tickets that i can enter in any $1.10 tournaments.

Starting Bankroll: $36.48
Last week Bankroll: $48.19

Weekly Update no. 7

Hello guys so the last week i managed to play around 79 tournaments and some spin & go at $0.25. I decided to not play anymore the $0.20 Scholars Leader Board tournaments because Pokerstars had changed the buy-in from $0.25 to $1.10 and the structure of the tournament does not fit me now . I rather play regular $1.10 tournaments.

Last week results ( 03.01.2022 - 09.01.2022 )

Starting Bankroll : $36.48
Last update Bankroll : $48.79
Current Bankroll : $42.30

Profit last week : - $6.49

Wow β€” the two aces on the board reduce the chances that someone has an Ace, and for me, it would have to depend on how big the bounties are.
I would not do this for even two minimum bounties, because the stacks are so close. You pretty much can't lose this hand and recover.

I can't see what bounty they had on them now. But i could not believe what hands they had. I had them on a Qx or maybe one Ax but not Both on Ax. I played really poor this hand. :( Live and learn.

MP+1 shows 7♦: A♠:: (Three of a Kind, Aces)

I am most definitely a recreational player simply because I play for the enjoyment of the game.
But I play pretty much every day.

So am I a rec or a reg? :coolface:

For me a regular is someone that puts the time in to improve his game, studies his game on a regular base, gets involved in a poker community, tries to become much better at the game not just playing 5-10 hours a day every day. I used to play like 10-12 hours when i started playing poker but i didn't read anything about poker regularly or trying to understand the mistakes i was making, that's why i lost my bankroll a lot of times in the firsts years.

Being a recreational player I often add some money on my poker account so i could play some Micromillions events or some SCOOP events, thinking that i was good enough to get a big cash in the tournament, and busting always at the beginning and almost never managed to get into the money.

Now i don't play just for the thought that i can get a big win cash tournament, i play for the enjoyment for the game and the feeling that i have when i sit at a table and to push myself to become better doing something that i really enjoy (besides my regular job :coolface: ).

And to answer your question i believe VorpalF2F that given the fact that you are such a active member of the Pokerstrategy community you definitely are not a recreational player in my opinion :f_drink:

Awww shucks 😭

I rather agree though.
One of my uncles was an amateur golfer, but he was very, very good, and on occasion would place highly in tournaments that included pros.

The idea of "rec" vs "reg" is a question of purpose β€” do you do it "for the fun of it" or to "make money".
Although I do it for enjoyment, a large part of the enjoyment is improving and β€” of course β€” winning.

So I'll call myself a recreational regular :coolface:
