At the moment I am in Germany. Opening the english software didnt work. So I tried with the german, which automatically transferred my account into a german one.
But without the money. 🙈
Have to say they were quite helpful and transferring the money to my mauritian bank account right now. But not sure if I will go on cashing in to 888.de. This is getting all too complicated. There are much easier ways to make money.
Betonline seems ok just not finding the hand histories for reviewing is quite annoying. Playing in the browser is good too. But the winrate is much worse at the moment.
To make matters worse my laptop is having some itches. Seems the UEFi boot gets in the way again. Two day it was not starting and I was already in the middle of a major data recovery session when it today came back again but wifi is not working right now. Well at least here in Germany I can look for a new laptop. Much cheaper than in Mauritius.
Was indeed this bloody EFI boot, which gave me a blue screen of broken installation. Duh, well, there is no windows on that machine, or at least at this point of boot to access. So fiddling around in the BIOS finally my Linux came back.
While fiddling around I must have hit the wifi switch key combination, leaving me wondering why Wifi is "broken" now too. However, I guess I need a new computer. Thunderbird is suddenly not loading fully showing a blank environment, but it has my profiles detected since I can see them in the "get new messages" menu. Everything else is blank, settings are not accessible. Reinstall didn't do the catch.
At least I got my now a 4TB drive on which I can easily safe everything. And it has not external power cable, so I can't destroy it connecting it to the wrong power supply. 
Hopefully the next days I come to play a bit again. Got a 20$ bonus from betonline to play for too. What is really annoying there that I can't find the HH in another place than only on the active table.
Do you do regular backups?
I lost my internal SSD to a power bump a year or so ago, and had to restore everything from backup.
Fortunately I had backups.
Now I have a UPS as well.
On linux is a program "Timeshift" which lets you do backup on a daily, weekly or monthly base as well as manually. But the VM was never backed up because my backup disc was too small for that. 
Anyway, the topic VM and poker is resovled now.
Yesterday I got a mail from betonline, that they have locked my account due to strange things... (I can absolutely not complain about this, they did overall a great job)
Indeed it must have been looking strange, when my laptop was denied to boot properly I used the old computer of my father for playing a bit. I explained the back and forth to them.
Today they came back, had reopened my account but telling me, that the use of a VM is not allowed as per their rules. Have to say I am not the rules reading type of guy. 
I also mentioned that I am using simple ps.com charts from time to time, but seems to be no problem.
So doing this again, they would close my account. I totally agreed and first thing I did was uninstalling the software from my VM. Will play there for the time being via Google Chrome on my Linux (which for example didn't work with 888, I could only play on a browser in a windows system)
Like I said, I find these guys from betonline.ag quite professional, support is acting quick. Straight forward. Just reviewing hands histories seems a bit inconvenient.
Today I also received my money from 888, took about a week or 8 days. Without any trouble. I remember the problems I had with Unibet, after they closed my account playing from Mauritius (while the country was blacklisted by the EU due do moneylaundering reasons, Panama papers I guess and that stuff) It was impossible for them to transfer the money back to my Mauritius account.
So far so good, let's see what the BO tables will bring in the future. Didn't start too well I am on about 28% ITM with just below 20 games. So no real sample size yet.

I can't think of a technical reason for banning them.
This is how they write it in their terms:
"The use of Virtual Machines and/or any software that specializes in screen-sharing and remote-access is prohibited."
At least this little incident gave me a nice boost. After the lock I started with $44 (I cashed in $50 at the beginning). Yesterday after 5 games SNG (3 x 1.5 9hd Turbo, 2 x 1.5 6hd hyper) I ended with ~ $53.
Today I started the day with 2 x 6hd hyper, 1 x $1.5 and 1 x $3.5 which brought me up to $65.52
The payout structure is not so good as 888. if I am not mistaken it was $12.15 for the 1st in $3. Here it is $12.87 for the 1st in $3.5. Winnings differ also between 6hd hyper and turbo.
Example:
Turbo 6Hd $1.5: 5.07 2.73
Hyper 6Hd S1.5: 5.46 2.94
However, they also have missions, I don't know how I got it but they granted me a $20 bonus to play free in $5 increments (for $20 rake, which is $0.2 for a Turbo 9Hd $1.5 SNG and $0.4 for a $3.5 SNG) Don't think I will make the first $5 until end of Oct.

back after a long time. Back in Mauritius. Happy new Year, all the best for everyone.
Yes, it took a bit, to come back and to sit on a table. Seems I am not addicted to the game 
4th of December was my last time. Maybe it was also due to Covid on the rise and and giving myself some cramps if I would be able to catch my plane. In the meantime the German government had Mauritius on the red list for Covid hotspot, but luckily they lifted this beginning of the year. Anyway I shouldn't have been a problem, since I leave the country, but with all this paperwork to do, I was shaking my head seeing people taking such a long ride, even with a little baby for a two week stay in a far far away island state.
Was "lucky" to book me probably one of the most expensive PCR-Tests for a 72h window before flight for 86€. Wonder if they penetrated me with a golden swab. Guess it was only silver, in the airport you pay more if you need the result within one hour.
Well so far all went good, took my plane on the 6th with Emirates via Dubai and landed in Mauritius on the 7th morning. I always prefer Emirates. It is nice to have an 11 hr flight split in two parts with a little rest in between. Also the possibility of taking two suitcases with 23kg each is a nice thing, food choice and entertainment program is also amazing.
Back the mood still went down, had to take care of my big boy, 12 year old dog. Luckily all went great he is jumping again and happy and since mid last week I am in an amazing good mood. Don't remember when I felt like this before.
Normally when I was hiking with the dogs I had all kinds of shit in my mind that was pulling me down. I am feeling totally free, and I am not even divorced. 
About playing: Just played a 3.5$ table since the 4th of Dec. I mailed BetOnline in advance to let them know that I will be playing from another country. They told me to call to verify. Went very professional, they opened my account for playing from here, so lets see how it will go on now.
Had a lot of fun on the call, the guy was wondering (as a joke), if I am the brother of John Wick. I actually try to use it here when someone asks me for my name, saying Wick like in John Wick (they use to write it Vik. Since the majority is of indian decent, lots of guys are written like this, as from Vikram or Vikash for example.
One security guard got it wrong and noted me down as just Mr John.

About 4th of December, I actually had another try to dump my bankroll, was down to ~ $30 and wanted to spill it with two $15 SnG...Well I won the first one and was back to $68. Luck is with the stupid as we say in Germany (or drunks and children). So I stopped for the remainder of the month and try my game from here again.
Since the payouts below $500 are crappy (if I am not mistaken they have only Coins below 500) I try to reach the 500 and see from there.
Well here it is now really hot. Had a hike yesterday, when I drove to the place my car showed 25°C, later, after a 14 km round with lots of ups and downs, it was 32°C and some places really gave you a wall of just effin hot air. We were lucky to find a really cold waterfall in the bushes at the end of the trip. I am surprised I made it in one peace, and even not having any pain today. Tomorrow, public holiday, more hiking.
Little update to some changes in my Linux setup.
Recently I changed to Manjaro Linux. Have to say I like it much more than Mint now.
My brother brought me on this, when I was looking for a change. He used it on a Raspberry Pi as a testing environment for my other brother.
My old computer runs much smoother, no more frequent crashes or not wanting to shutdown getting stuck in some processes. I also dumped my Virtual Machine with Windows on it (which is anyway not allowed to use with BetOnline) Playing poker in the browser is quite ok. I only had initially an issue with some crashes but this seems it was due to the hard drive. So I used my older 320GB hard drive and since then it worked fine.
Also updating software seems to be more efficient. While in Mint you often saw reviews that an update or app in the repository is not good, better to go to the producer's site, this is going very smooth with Manjaro and in one big batch with a system update (just yesterday about 1.8 GB).
This also brought me to another project. I want to start collecting old laptops now and set them up with Linux. Then donate them here to schools, or kids who don't have the money to buy a device. I tried it on my father's old laptop from around 2006 (initially with Vista on it) and it runs quite good for the things kids need to connect to school or learn working on a computer.

I am quite sure that I won't be able to visit that Albion
It's not a big deal with Linux nowadays. You just need to flash an iso file on an USB, start it, and then run the install routine from there. Another nice thing this that it is possible to play some old windows games from far past times. I try not to get me into this...can be a time killer and time is luxury from a given age.
And to come back to an earlier question of yours:
I ramped up my backup to 14 daily backups, 8 weekly and 4 monthly. Also quite easy to set up. In Germany I got me a 4TB external HD (much cheaper there) on which I have a partition for my bigger files and another one where I do the backup on.
My chart so far. In October I started. That bad notch happened in November, when I wanted to dump everything. Playing one game on $15 brought me back over the $50 I initially cashed in.
I tried to cash out, but the options at that amount are quite crappy - only cryptos I don't have a wallet for.
First $ cash out to the credit card would work as from $500, so I decided on 17th of January to go on. So far not too bad.
At the moment I play the $3.5 6hd Hyper SnG (3 min levels bankroll starts with 25 BB instead of 75 BB in the slower versions)
It is storm (cyclone) season and the first one is coming by. There was one some days ago but it made a circle NW of us into Madagascar.
Luckily this one is also just passing by in the north towards Madagascar, though we have a level two warning which means gusts as from 120 km/h.
Since I am here I haven't seen any really severe one. Also don't need to see one. About 4 years ago there was a big one coming right to the northern tip of the island, but coming close it got weaker and turned slightly eastwards and went along the east coast. Here in the west we only felt it when it was past the island. The heights in the center have blocked the wind and it only ripped some green of the trees when it finally came around the island.
Just played 3 SNG won two lost one at the bubble. Won't try more right now. There could be also some power cuts around meaning no internet. Most time when I have no internet here, my mobile is also not working. One time I had to drive to the other side of the village, where the Telecom tower is, to get a signal, to inform the boss in Germany that there is no electricity/internet.

Today I checked out GGPoker. I had already an account tracked, created it during my 888 times. So today I checked out my GG account after I installed on my phone app and found $0.15 which must have been left from the pokerstrategy Flip & Go promo, I think it was about a year ago.
So..why not donking it off in another Flip & Go...didn't work out for the donking off part, I made it in the money phase and further to the final table, which I finally left as the first one winning $2.31.
So where will that lead me too?
