Hello,

Was I supposed to call preflop considering its just a little bit more to add to have a chance to get ITM? The bad side of things being that if I lose, villain will now have a bigger stack than me.

PokerStars, $1.78 + $0.22 - Hold'em No Limit - 200/400 (25 ante) - 4 players
Hand delivered by Upswing Poker

UTG: 3,794 (9 bb)
BU: 942 (2 bb)
SB: 6,179 (15 bb)
BB (Hero): 2,585 (6 bb)

Pre-Flop: (700) Hero is BB with 5 T
1 fold, BTN raises to 800, 1 fold, Hero calls 400

Flop: (1,900) 3 7 J (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets 117 (all-in), Hero calls 117

With those odds against the short stack I would go for it, but from ICM it's bad if you lose the hand and end up with up as short stack. Offcourse you can just shove right away in the BB. No point in calling and stack off for only 117 more.
