I would say that’s a good description. You’re stuck somewhere in the middle and no you’re overanalysing all of that data. Just look at solely VPIP, PFR & aggression. That’s all you need right now. You can’t look at these details easily on fast zoom or 6 max though

Sure! I’ll add you and we can chat on discord whenever you want and I’ll try to help whenever I can

You are absolutely right about this. I was trying to figure out into the bottom of every little detail what I possible could do better and got lost in the process when my #1 mistake was just as simple as that. I just needed someone to point it out to me. You really made my day sir! :f_drink::f_thumbsup:

It's exactly what it is, right? Well I'm happy to be a barracuda today and accepting that may help to put your ego aside in difficult spots. After more hard work I'm sure a barracuda can become a shark _p:

These where the 3 single biggest pots out of a 988 hands in a session. So many times I manage to get it all in when I have the favorite hand and I end up losing. I know I make the right plays but I keep losing all the big pots. I know this shouldn't tilt me but it's so frustrating.

Hang in their. Accept the variance. Reread the mental game of poker and play your best that is possible.

(2022-09-26) Week 3 finished, these are the results:

BR Challenge Week 3

Start BR: €230
Last Update BR: €81.51
Current BR: €44.15
Result: -€37.36
Target: €2000

Week 3 evaluation:

+ Play every day
+ Study every day

Needs more focus:

- Tilt control
- Folding more rivers
- Stay away from zoom and play more regular

So apparently I'm a big fish who can't even beat NL2. I'm losing my bankroll at a fast rate, not good. Als so very tilting if you know how much time I spend playing and learning. Definitely the zoom tables are really destroying my bankroll. What's going wrong? I almost lost faith. Lucky I got some good runs at the normal tables without it I would be busto by now. I don't know how this is possible since these supposed to be the easiest games to beat. I used to crush NL10 back in the days but it's a long time ago and times have changed a lot since then! People actually know what they're doing :f_confused: I had a nice conversation with another poker enthusiast who seem to do better then me (no suprise) and, well he helped me to break the negative spiral I was in. I also did some serious analysis and self reflection and the last couple of days and discovered many leaks which I didn't have before. Combined with some bad variance things can go bad so quickly! Also my gameplay actually got worse over time. So all I can say is I still have a ton of work to do but it's a new week and hopefully we can get to see the green color again soon.

I know what needs work and where things went wrong, many things actually. At least I know what to work on.

(2022-10-03) Week 4 finished, these are the results:

BR Challenge Week 4
Start BR: €230
Last Update BR: €44.15
Current BR: €62.48
Result: + $19.77
Target: €2000

Week 4 evaluation:

+ Play everyday
+ Study everyday

Needs more focus:

- Planning more (time management)
- Improve B-Game

Finally things are getting better again. September was terrible for my bankroll, let's hope October will be much better. After a hefty downswing I finally start crawling back up my feet again. I still get bad beats but less frequent then the past 2 weeks. Which also made me find more peace in my mind and tilt less. I still tilt, but it's affecting my game less and I don't feel like smashing my mouse and keyboard again so that's definitely +EV :f_biggrin: I think I underestimate how bad a downswing can get. After week 3 I was starting to doubt everything when for the third time in an hour you finally get break even and get to play for a big pot with the absolute nuts on the turn, only to lose it all over again to a guy hitting his 2 outer. And other times you sitting at the table and there's never been a pot bigger then 5 BB because people are playing with a VPIP of 10. But it's poker, these things happen. I know that, but at the table when you are building you are slowly but solid building your bankroll you sometimes tend to forget these things. Anyway we are back, and I can't wait to move back up to NL5 but we keep the conservative approach but we'll get there soon enough.

Gameplan Update for October 2022:

Daily objectives:

+ Study 15+ mins
+ Play 300+ hands
+ Evaluate at least one hand in the hand discussion forum

Before the end of October:

+ Play 10K+ hands
+ Climb to NL5 and have a BR of €80
+ Reach gold status at PokerStrategy (so I can start studying the new available content starting next month) propably not going to make it but I try anyway.

Objective update for 2022:

+ Crush NL5 and reach a minimum BR of €250 (12.50% of BR Challenge) so I can finally climb the stakes to NL10

Always keep working hard on improving and enjoy the journey!

Unable to establish connection. PokerStars is down...again...?! I find this quiet disturbing for the largest poker room out there. Don't know what the issues are but this is a very bad thing for all parties and poker in general. This is very troubling how can they let there business fail like this? What about all the MTT's etc? Goodbye October challenge and daily grind streak :f_zZz:

I had a whole post ready but I deleted it. Seems like I'm on a lonely journey here anyway and I understand, there are more exciting blogs to follow then my struggle. Bottom line is I underestimated the journey of what I thought would be fairly easy with enough dedication. Turns out being your own coach in search for succes at micro stakes poker is far from easy in 2022. Considering hiring a coach. Also taking lessons from previous experience and time for a full reset.

Now let's take a break!

I can confirm that - sometimes it seems like you talk to yourself. But in the times when everything gets done by likes or passive actions, it is pretty hard to get personal interaction. The bankroll challenge for sure encourages users to post, and to be honest this is also one of the reasons why I am surfing here...

Dude, I think you spend more time focusing on chasing your losses and end up jumping to 5nl way before you BR can handle it. Everyone has a different BR strat that works for them, mine is very very strict BR management. I have to as I have tilt issues and it stops me from taking shots at higher levels earlier. Fixing my tilt issues is a lot harder than fixing mistakes I make during pre flop and post flop play. But it has helped, a losing day for me now is close to or break even.
Focus on fixing tilt issues that you may not think you have. IMHO :f_drink:
