Hi everyone,

I'm trying to improve my poker skills and will upload two hands from yesterday. My question in the first Hand is: Should i just fold QJs after the 3Bet in this late phase of the tournament? If not, is the all-in on this flop correct or would you rather fold?
PokerStars - 3500/7000 Ante 1100 NL (8 max) - Holdem - 7 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4:

BB: 81.53 BB
Hero (UTG): 25.79 BB
UTG+1: 13.94 BB
MP: 58.65 BB
CO: 14.65 BB
BTN: 65.13 BB
SB: 49.18 BB

7 players post ante of 0.16 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.6 BB) Hero has Qs Js
Hero raises to 2.2 BB, fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to 5 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 2.8 BB

Flop : (12.6 BB, 2 players) 8d 5s Ks
Hero checks, BTN bets 12.6 BB, Hero raises to 20.63 BB and is all-in, BTN calls 8.03 BB

Turn : (53.86 BB, 2 players) 9c

River : (53.86 BB, 2 players) 6h

In the second Hand, i was not sure if i should do a CBet on this Board... I think after my 3Bet preflop the opponent has a lot of Pocketpairs in his Range so i decided not to cBet. What are your thoughts? Anyway the second question is: Is my block bet on the river correct or should i just check/fold?

Thanks for your opinions!

Try to post 1 hand per thread. This way we can discuss better.

First hand I would most likely play the same. Offcourse calling a 3bet out of position is tricky. Even with QJs. This is 1 of the better flops you can hit and I don't think you can fold the flush draw. Even against a pot size bet. Off course some info on the villain in this hand would be nice.

2nd hand it's to bad we don't know anything about the villain in this hand.
You could also call AKs pre-flop with a hand that played well post-flop and this way you keep the pot smaller.
Read less I would consider folding the turn. Not sure why you lead the river.

Cheers,

That's good. Hopefully others will give you feedback as well.

... would have played the first hand exactly the same way. The raise is very small and you have to pay 2.8 BB to win 9.8 BB so you get great odds (more than 3:1) with very good suited connectors. Of course you're out of position but even against TT+,AQs+,AQo+ you have almost 32% equity and you have to take some risks to get far in a tournament. On the flop you're a 3:2 dog versus the range above. It's just a cooler. My 2 cents.
