Status:!!!GOOD!!!

Yes i am guilty. I didn't post an update for too long. I rather play then type :)

Well my investment in studying SSS, watching videos, coachings, posting hands did pay off. Although i've fallen down to 240$ BR again and had no more bonus to cushion the loss, since the last update.

That made me angry. I said to myself: "how can you be so undisciplined, that you can't follow a simple chart for SSS!!?"
So i decided i won't be a loser anymore and start playing according to chart and focus on my game.

I still play NL25 on party. So now over a past 10 days i've climbed at 400$ BR Yay!
Usually i make from 15$-25$ in 1-2 hours. Sometimes i fall for 10$-20$ but the next day i earn them back. I'd say i play really good and disciplined poker. Sticking to SSS, but using some of my own expansions (advanced SSS). It seems they work.
I've tighten up starting hands range and resteal range. Of course that protects me from most of bad beats.

I just need 300 party points to buy another 100$ bonus and by the time i release it my unvested points will kick in march so i can buy another bonus. After that one i am planning to move my BR to Everest for purpose of bonus whoring.

I hope my current upswing will hold for some time. Anyway it's poker. We have to get used to everything.

good luck guys!

My blog is back

Omg! Rockeye is alive!! Yea, yea i am. :f_cool:

I can't promise i'll be bloging more then i was before, because i am as usually busy and lazy. In fact even busier then i was ... since i live in small house and i am planning to build a larger one next to old one so i have to prepare the landscape (surroundings, garden, fences, garden shack). So i have a full time job till 17:00h, then i work around the house untill 20:00h, eat dinner with my family (wife, daughter), smoke few cigaretes, drink a few beers or wine, then i play poker till 0:00h.

Ok i just wanted to share my daily schedule with you so you'll understand why i lack time to write a blog and of course why my blog isn't so sophisticated as some others (cough, Gerv, cough..) _biggrin:

Sooo back to poker.
Since my last update my bankroll reached a whooping 696$
How? I played advanced SS strategy of course!! I played on NL50 and even took shots at NL100. How did perform on Nl100? I must say .. EXCELLENT. My first pot i won at NL100 was 64$.

Ok i've reached 696$. But... Shit happens i had to repair my my car's shock absorbers (never used this word i hope it's right one) and i bought a bike for my daughter's birthsday... ok i bought myselft a bike too... GUILTY! :f_frown:

I withdrew 640$, leaving 56$ for my BR.
I think it's ok if you reward yourself for hard earned money. It gives you further motivation.

Ok then i took a short break from poker.

Few days ago i saw an email from Party poker for 100$ bonus for 1000 points in one month. Hmm tempting, but how the hell will i get 1000 points with 56$ BR in 30 days? Can i do it?

So this is my new short term goal " Releasing 100$ bonus"

Progress so far: I left 2100 party points when i withdrew. So i purchased 50$ for 1500 points from party store, because i knew i can't release a bonus in one month playing NL10. I was aiming for NL25 with 106$ BR. Yes, yes i know BRM!! I decided to use 20 BI because i've already beaten that limit once.

Ok i managed to get 250 points in 3 days 9-12 tabling at Nl25, but went from 106$ to 60$, facing serious suckouts and bad beats. Unbelivable! when i was reviewing my hands i was horrified with what hands ppl call my push when i am holding AA, KK , QQ , AK hands. And they win !! Heh i said it's poker and it's nothing i haven't seen before. I guess the game was very very loose because everybody wanted to clear that 100$ bonus fast and played loose/aggressive play (Maniac way)

Of course i am a member of Poker strategy, so i moved down to Nl10 when my BR droped to 60$. Fourth day was a suckout day too. Lost 13$ and BR dropped to 47$. Yesterday i sat at my pc and decided to play rock style poker since i was sick and tired of suckouts and bad beats.
Oh yea and i earned 18$ (9 BI)!!

So my current BR: 65$

Cya soon for some updates. I hope i can make 1000 points in 1 month. It will be a challenge at Nl10.

The picture above says it all...

Ok now i missed out one day for update but no biggy.

The day before yesteday i played a session of 700 hands and dropped for -7$. I just couldn't believe when i saw hands that got me beaten... Phew..!! Q3o vs mine JJ etc. I really hate NL10. I guess everyone is willing to throw away 2$ just to see if they can suckout on me.
Yea i admit i made a few mistakes myself too, but sometimes you just have to push. I play really really tight. Maybe i've never played so tight as i do now.
Maybe i am too used to NL50 game, where my tight image had at least some credit. Dunno why i am expecting that NL10 players observe my play or even have stats at this limit. They seem to just push with any face card like Ax, Kx, Qx.
I managed to make a measly 10 party points... Phew..
I'll never get 700 more points at Nl10 in 23 days. I think i'll have to deposit some $$ to play comfortably at NL25. Or maybe my wife can lend me 100$ from her Party account :f_p: With that and million dollar hand promotion coming i think i can make it.
so my 2nd of June BR was : 58$

Yesteday i played a bit more - around 900 hands and went up for +4$ My play was very very tight and i played upto 12 tables. Still suckouts and badbeats fiesta continues. I reviewed my play after the session and almost cried when i saw the trash hands ppl play with.
My premium hands AK, QQ, JJ, AQ got beaten in 80%. _evil: Of course it's poker. I shouldn't get that 100$ bonus, my BR wasn't ready for it anyway and now it seems i a bit nervous, because i know i won't be able to climb at NL25 and make enough points in 23 days without deposit. This just can't be +EV for my play...

I must say starting again at NL10 is really frustrating and i understand all the new pokerstrategists who struggle in suckout infested waters at NL micros.
I am slowly getting tired of Party poker, i think i need a change, so probably as soon as i can i'll go to Everest.

My BR as of 3rd of June: 62$

Peace!

Wow, UL on dropping down to NL10 having beaten NL25 before.

I think $100 is fine to start NL25 on if you're confident and not moneyscared. Its what I did when i deposited at pokerstars back in November. (100% deposit bonus up to $100 back then) I was planning on dropping down to NL10 if I hit $70.

I was supremely confident in my ability to completely crush NL25 though, hence my BRM decision :)

Yea i was confident too that i can beat NL25, that's why i chose to play it with 20 BI. I guess i was money scared and nervous because i took that 100$ bonus. I was forcing myself to play more then i am usually playing and wanted to earn points + cash fast. But things doesn't always go the way you plan them. I reviewed my hands that got me to down to NL10 and 70% of em were lost because of suckouts (example JJ vs Q5o hits the Q on river calling my push with air kinda stuff, you know the drill)

I R BACK!! :f_biggrin:

I found the solution for my small BR problem. My wife lended me 115$ from her Party account until the end of promotion... Thank you my wife, thank you!.. Thank god for inter account transfer. Good thing that she had her security question and answer writen down, because you can't do anything without it.

That boosted my BR to 177$ :)

I played a session of 900 hands, 12 tables, and made +30$

My current BR is: 207$

I am sorry i can't write more about my Holdem manager trying to set stats and stuff but it was confusing and i had to switch back to good old Elephant. Next time i'll post some thinking about Elephant and Holdem manager.

Hi Rockeye,

I've just discovered your blog and we'll keep an eye on it! So far I've only read your intro, but I'll take some time to read the rest soon. I think I've seen you on PokerStars NL25, is that right?

Best of luck, mate.

Up and down - standing still

Hey dandycal! Good luck to you too! No i don't play on Pokerstars. I am currently tilting at Nl25 Party Poker. Why tilting? Because everything i earn playing solid SSS i lose to suckouts like example. QQ vs villains J8o, all the time.
Officially Party Poker Nl25 is terrible. At least for me. I can't wait i start playing at good old NL50.

Well i took a week off from work, only to work at home, stuff around a house, garden etc. Yea week off to work.. that's my destiny :f_biggrin: I could only play around 500 hands every evening, because i was too tired and of course i don't play very well if i am tired.
I play 7 tables of NL25 and 2 of NL50. Yea i know BRM!! RockEye you'll go broke ..!! But the thing is playing tight solid SSS pays of on NL50 and i earn back what i loose at Nl25. It's working for now. I know it's bad idea to step up a limit to earn back what you lose tilting on lower ones. But i feel so at home at NL50! Currently i am going up and down, playing break even. I think because i have around 33 BI for Nl25 and i know now that i will rather have at least 40-50 BI for current limit before i step up a limit. It's safer this way.

Well a million dollar hand promo gave me 16$ so far. 1x two pairs and 2x one pair.
I only need 304 party points to unlock a 100$ bonus and i have 15 days to do it. Easy! If i won't go broke tilting Nah joking.

My current BR is: 167$

Up, up ... it feels good!

I won't even apologize anymore, because i don't see a reason why i should update my blog every day or even every week. I'll just post when i'll feel i made something worth mentioning or when i'll have something special to say or think or something... :f_confused:

I released 100$ bonus (1000 points in 21 days) in 10 days! Nice hah?! =)
Now they are offering me 100$ (in 5 parts - each 120 points in 7 days) Hmm.
Maybe i should take it, anyway it's better then in one lump. I think i can release 3-4 parts ez.

Ok, but how is my BR doing?? :f_cool: Currently i think i figured out NL25 again.
My BR is 440$ (Ok i have to give 115$ back to my wife.... or maybe she'll let it go since it's my wife )

I made some 47$ with million dollar hand promo, 2x two pairs and 9x one pair.
Other than that i don't even want to look at my graph, because it's a rollercoaster one. It looks terrible. My graph shows my mood swings and tiredness sometimes.

Anyway it seems i am doing 3x more money with bonuses(rakeback + promos) then with my play. Doesn't matter as long as my BR is increasing. With expirience comes discipline and $.

Oh i forgot to mention. If you noticed i am still playing on NL25... Why? Yea i could move to NL50 at 300$ (30 BI rule) but i want to be safe, although i've beat the limit once before. Ok i don't know i beat the NL50 it could be just "running hot" for some time. My plan was to step to NL50 or any other higher limit with 50BI rule. But i think i can do it safely with 44BI, just to release that 100$ bonus quicker.

Good luck fellow SSSers..!!

My current BR is 440$

Down, down ... it feels bad!

It's been one month. Well my vacation came and i went to the sea with my family for 14 days. It was... relaxing. No job, no stress, no poker, just swimming, barbecue, beer and quality family time.

I thought vacation will help my poker downswing, but no such luck.
July officially sucks. I went from 460$ down to 190$. In this time i released 115$ of 174$ deposit bonus so my balance for July is -385$ which is disturbing. I blew 240$ playing NL50. Then at 220$ BR i went down to NL25. Started playing with 12 tables then tried to play 18 and it went ok, but after some time i realized it's too much tables for me. Now i try to play 6-7 tables NL50 and try to use stats a lot more. It's better this way. I get more points for my new 250$ fixed bonus i took, and i like NL50 a lot more. I really hate NL25, it's a suckout limit for me.

Now i know i must have some if not lot leaks in my play. I keep saying it's a lot of bad luck and suckouts, but deep inside i know i wouldn't face those suckouts and badbeats if i'd study my opponents and my own play.
I tried to play very, very aggressive style and more loose (it means i didn't stick to the SSS strategy) and it went ok for some time but then i realized i am stagnating or loosing with this kind of play.

I'll write my bigest leaks i think i have. Feel free to comment, advise or anything... if anyone ready this blog

1. Lack of discipline and patience (not sticking to SSS)
2. Playing too many tables (from 12 to 18) 6-9 is optimal for me.
3. Chasing bonuses and promotions (i earn some money but i keep playing beacuse points - release bonus, promos etc.)
4. Playing when tired
5. I incorporated stop win limit at 3 BI but i can't stop when i lose 5 BI
6. I haven't studied any articles, watch videos, attended coachings or reading books or anything (i really like to play, i hate studying... i always did at school _biggrin:)

I think that's it. The list is long and leaks are serious, no wonder i've lost that much. At least i know what i do wrong.

The reason why i can't study is also lack of time. I've only got 2-3 hours at the evening and that's from 22.00 to 1.00. You could imagine, jhow tired i am being at work for 9-10 hours, then work around a house, have some time with my family etc.
I really envy you guys who can study and play poker all day. But it doesn't matter, i'll just need more time to reach a certain knowledge and expirience.
I am still confident i can become a succesfull poker player.

Oh and i've quit smoking after 18 years... huh it's hard. when i am on tilt i'd really could use a smoke, but i can't. It's 26th day without a single cigarette and i won't blew it now.

Cya

Good luck.
