BTN: 145.3 BB 50h- Unknown
SB: 47 BB
BB: 82.8 BB
UTG: 160.7 BB
Hero (MP): 184.2 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q♦ Q♥

fold, Hero raises to 3.9 BB, CO calls 3.9 BB, BTN calls 3.9 BB, fold, fold
CO is a CS/Whale. BTN is showing CS/Whale tendencies, thus I opened a bit larger than my usual.

Flop: (13.2 BB, 3 players) 4♦ 7♦ T♣
Hero bets 9 BB, CO calls 9 BB, BTN raises to 36 BB, fold, CO raises to 116.7 BB and is all-in, BTN calls 80.7 BB
On such flop, against guys that like to call with FD, I go on the upper range of my Cbet. Think it was standard.
CO call can be something from TP, to FD. When BTN raises after CO calls, I narrow BTN range to pretty much sets. Am I being too nit on this spots?

Turn: (255.6 BB, 2 players) A♦

River: (255.6 BB, 2 players) J♦

Spoiler

CO shows 8♦ 9♦ (Flush, Ace High)
(Pre 41%, Flop 55%, Turn 90%)
BTN shows T♠ A♣ (Two Pair, Aces and Tens)
(Pre 59%, Flop 45%, Turn 10%)
CO wins 242.8 BB

Players like this do random things, sometimes when they show strength it does not always mean we beat, but they do have something. But I would fold as well, on this board I want at least a set to stack off against 2 randoms this deep, maybe this is me being to much of a nit? It's unfortunate that when you make the nuts against 2 whales you already folded.

I wouldn't be surprised if BTN turned over AK or JJ.

Pre-flop sizing seems big from the CO. I would normal raise between 2,5 and 3bb first in.
I don't expect a hand like JJ+ and AK in villains calling range on the BTN. Those hands would normaly 3bet. Especially multi way.
I expect you have some stats on the BTN for 50 hands like VPIP and PFR.

The BTN player could raise with a flush draw and maybe top pair, but against a set you are crushed. Without specific reads I wouldn't mind the fold. Villains raising range should be pretty value heavy multi way. Raising top pair is basicly bluffing in a spot like this.

Cheers,

You lost me here... I'm first in in MP and I sized it 1BBmore than I use to because of CO. Also, BTN is showing 50 VPIP over the 50 hands.
With these two having position over me, how bad is it to size it larger PF?
When I have such players in my left, I tend to tighten up and bet larger. I may be frequently doing a mistake here and not noticing.
Ty for pointing out. Would appreciate more thoughts on this subject.

Fish don't play how we expect them to play with good hands.

Little mistake, but even from MP 3x is more than enough first in. Offcourse against passive villains you can size up a bit, but I don't think it makes much difference. Even if you make it 5x those players would still call you.

If you expect villain could over play top pair or JJ I would stack off for sure.

Is that not exactly what we want? Play a larger pot against weak players with a hand that has a big equity edge vs their unadjusted range?

For me, is not only that.
If I make my usual 2.4/2.9BB OR already expecting CO and BTN to call, think about the odds we're giving SB and BB to join in.
