GG Poker - $0.25 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 97.08 BB
SB: 149.44 BB
BB: 117.12 BB
Hero (UTG): 103.08 BB
MP: 63.88 BB
CO: 201.52 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has J♣ J♥

Hero raises to 2.52 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, BB calls 1.52 BB

Flop: (5.44 BB, 2 players) 3♥ 4♥ 6♣
BB checks, Hero bets 2.84 BB, BB raises to 8.4 BB, Hero calls 5.56 BB

Turn: (22.24 BB, 2 players) J♠
BB checks, Hero bets 17.36 BB, BB calls 17.36 BB

River: (56.96 BB, 2 players) 2♠
BB bets 88.84 BB and is all-in, Hero ? ?

The villain is a tag.

While ago I played a hand vs the same villain. 3 way SRP, same type of board, I had a set of 44 on BTN, action on flop, check on turn, and the villain bombed 30BB on river on CO, and the villain showed me 55 for straight for a 100BB pot.

And then now we get this hand. Frankly, I wasn't even thinking about the last hand until I realized the same stuff is happening right here again. Like, I never expected to see the 2 on river.

Thoughts?

Allow me some time to puke while I think of my reply...

Well, I'm going to tell you this should be a fold, although I doubt if I can do it myself. On the BB vs UTG-open I defend the GTO-range as a standard and adjust based on reads that I have on UTG. If we assume BB calls with the GTO-range, he has a big nut advantage vs us. The range looks like this:

A2s+, K2s+, Q2s+, J2s+, T5s+, 95s+, 85s+, 74s+, 63s+, 52s+, 42s+, 32s+, 22+ (for off-suit they have A9o, KT/QT/JT+). As you can see they have all the small suited cards. They have the 52s/75s which are straights, they have the two pairs, the 5x-straight draws and everything.

Check/raise on the flop could be a set, a straight, two pair, a straight-draw, a flush-draw or a combo-draw. On the turn I expect his value to either lead or check/raise. When he check/calls, his hand looks more like a draw type of hand, maybe a flushdraw/straight draw or combo draw.

On the river we see a polarized jam; I don't think a set or two pair takes this line ever. He has a 5x or nothing. That 'nothing' could be a busted flush draw. Now this should be the question. Would villain do this with a busted flush draw? We don't really know. Now add to this that he has many 5x type of hands that get here. (52s, 53s, 54s, 55, 56s, 57s, 58s, 59s, J5s, Q5s, K5s, A5s) - now from this range these 5x might fold turn: (59s, Q5s and K5s) - but the rest he has for sure. (if he defends GTO pre).

Nasty spot for sure on the river. Looks like villain has hit the straight and wants to earn value on the river.
I can't imagion villain will change a lower set or 2 pair in to a bluff.

Cheers,

sorry I think I am calling, it is a sick spot vs BB, but he raised on flop, with what? FD, 75, sets, A2 A5. then checks, then calls pot bet turn. Well fu*k it, I am losing 100bb cause I am not folding river. I can maybe see A5 heart , and I pay that stuff OFF!!!! TWICE

I'm in folding club. I checked in my database - if reg plays x/r flop -> x/c turn -> big donkbet then from 18 hands on showdown all were not bluffs.

I get like that when I'm bullied like this. It gets emotional. Like someone offended me. So I get all steamy and it does affect my decisions.

If you must know:

I'm glad that I won the hand but I didn't like how I became angry and called because that's what they want from me, to get mad and to lose my temper.

This is the range I came up with for V to make the turn call with:

55, AhTh, Ah7h, KhQh, KhTh, QhTh, 8h7h, Ah6h, 8h6h, 7h6h, 6d5d, 6s5s, Ah2h

V keeps betting this
6h5h, 5h7h, A5s, 33 44 66

On the turn there is no need for V to slow play if he had a made hand already imo, if V was sitting on a str8 or a set already, wouldn't he want to get it in before a scared card comes on the river and just kills the action. And a combo draw can keep telling that story.
I hate it when I make these angry calls, even though you won, it kind makes it feel like a loss, in a sense that I lost my composure and didn't make a clear-headed decision, more of a tilt call.

Yes, it tilts me but we shouldn't get too excited and we should control our emotions for sure.
