Hello fellow GRINDERS!!

It has taken me some time to decide, to finally start a poke BLOG.

Little about me:
I am 37 years old, live in New Jersey in the US. I have played poker on and off for as long as I could remember. During the poker boom I was in college and of course gave a few shots at FOXWOODS(casino) to no avail. I am a full time chef and a full time father of 2, and I play way too much online poker :f_biggrin: . Recently since 2018 (about) I started to take poker more serious than I ever have. Why? I really don't know, I played soccer/futbol my whole life and am a very competitive person. I dislocated my knee for the 3rd time around then playing golf and tore out all of my cartilage around my knee and broke my knee cap in half.. So I guess it was time to do something else, I STILL GOLF THO!

Pokerwise, I will put up a graph to show how from last January, things have been going. I was staked by C-Biscuit staking group which was a really good experience, I learned a crap ton. No I had my names before I was staked and my monikers go with BISCUIT. I started off like many people "NL poker, easy game all luck I got this." Was I ever wrong! So what did I do, I jumped into NL100 games and got crushed. Then got a little start and went to NL30 and built myself back up from a clean slate. I am currently playing NL100 & NL200. So enough writing GRAPHS!

Vorpal"thanks for the picture help"

What to expect, I am not completely sure. I am going to try and document some of my poker experiences, advice, life advice & tilt (maybe some food pictures) to try and get better at this crazy game.

My goals for the year is to win $1000 a month and to be able to get to the WSOP in 2022 to play in any NL event..

Hey mkBISCUIT,

I have fixed your images so they display properly. There are two ways to post images.

1) If you use an Image Hosting site, then use the links that end in a file extension like .jpg, .png, .bmp etc.

2) Save a copy of the image to your desktop, then drag and drop the image directly into your post. This sends a copy to our online cloud which means it will stay even if you delete or move the source.

Have fun :gl:

Hi mkBISCUIT,
Yes -- unlucky. I don't think jamming the flop is a bad idea either -- there are two :diamonds: there, and two broadways so the flop is rather wet.

I noticed you're using PT4 to convert the hands.
In the Hand Details page there is a blue check-mark icon that enables you to "copy to forum format"
If you use that option, then the suits are displayed in colour.

Cheers,
VS

If you have some major event happening in Real Life, even if you find the time to play, those things keep intruding into thought processes, and it becomes harder to maintain the focus required.

All the best,

You are correct it does, put it may sound weird but poker is my outlet a lot of the time..

As I said in the first post, I am a chef by trade so there is always a stress factor to my life besides the norm. Not sure if that makes any sense..

But you are correct that keeping a clear head when playing is the best, that’s why I placed that tilted hand up, the pair of 77’s. I like to be kept accountable with dumb things I do, and poker helps tremendously with that. You can’t really hide from numbers, like food cost and labor costs.

Thank you for the reply Vorpal! Keep grinding!

Hello Hello! posting this one a little early as I am going on Holiday for a week, and NO POKER!!

So the month was pretty choppy, it ended well as you will see 4.39bb/100 at NL100.

So lets go through some hands....
PokerStars - $1 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (SB): 100 BB
BB: 224.45 BB
UTG: 62.49 BB
MP: 101.5 BB
CO: 286.92 BB
BTN: 197.91 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 2:diamond: 2:spade:

UTG raises to 2.5 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 2 BB, BB calls 1.5 BB

Flop: (7.5 BB, 3 players) 6:heart: 9:diamond: 2:heart:
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG bets 3.56 BB, Hero calls 3.56 BB, BB calls 3.56 BB

Turn: (18.18 BB, 3 players) 6:diamond:
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG bets 17.27 BB, Hero calls 17.27 BB, BB raises to 96.35 BB, UTG calls 39.16 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 76.67 BB and is all-in

River: (262.49 BB, 3 players) 4:club:

Hero shows 2:diamond: 2:spade: (Full House, Twos full of Sixes)

Main Pot [187.47 BB]: (Pre 28%, Flop 70%, Turn 90%)
Side Pot#1 [75.02 BB]: (Pre 49%, Flop 72%, Turn 100%)

BB shows 8:heart: A:heart: (One Pair, Sixes)

Main Pot [187.47 BB]: (Pre 36%, Flop 28%, Turn 0%)
Side Pot#1 [75.02 BB]: (Pre 51%, Flop 28%, Turn 0%)

UTG shows K:club: 9:club: (Two Pair, Nines and Sixes)

Main Pot [187.47 BB]: (Pre 36%, Flop 2%, Turn 10%)

Hero wins 259.49 BB

So both players here are rec, with Vpip over 34 each and PFR of 18.
reason for my SB complete is Ep I have about 5k hands against and I am well aware that if I hit my set I will be able to get stacks in if he has over pair or hits any part of the board. BB first session with him.

FLop, I could raise here as well, but I decide to call reason for this is that I think if BB called I really only need to dodge a Diamond, there isn't really to many other scare cards for me, If EP had a bigger pair AA KK I believe he be being bigger on flop with the FD out there.

Turn once the 6 hits the rest is pretty easy.

BB wins 211.35 BB

and a losing hand. So if any one knows GREG MERSON WSOP Champion well this is him. HAHA.
Preflop is fine min raise, even if I do 2.5x he is calling..

Flop, this is where things go bad. so I did a 1/2 pot bet to give myself some protection against all over cards j10 qj 910 etc, not worried about KQ AK-A10 backs ehe is 3 betting of this holdings. then at this point he does hold NUT advantage with 22-55 which he is calling pre, but also be reraise with 44,66,77 as for the same reason as my bet, he is protecting against overcards. So I decide to call

Turn- so now when he leads for about half pot, the 10 scares me little bit as the range I Have him on but once again if he has 44, 66,77 he would be playing them the same why, so really this call was looking for a check on the river from him.

River, WELL Shit happens, there isn't any way I am folding... ohh boy..

below I put break down from GTO wizard.. looks like hand was played pretty well..

combos

so yea, some of my thought process for y'all.. wish you the best of luck in the week to come.. any question on hands or thoughts, feel free to reach out..

Have this player marked as an okay reg, 23vpip 15 pFR, My sizing On the turn I like as I was trying to get all in by river which would have given me an easy pot size bet about. As for the call, the only hand that kinda worried me was a set of jacks, 3's and 6's I wouldn't put villain on along with any 2 pair as combos were weird j3, j6 not calling pre. He could be shoving AcJc with the back door or possible AJ unsuited worried about all the FD.

this was my biggest losing hand on 100NL..... reason for my folding is that 3bet pre- villain is holding a bunch of aces, so the ace on the river kills my 2 pr. so I gave up, if any other card came I probably would have been calling..

Alright off to PARX's for some live play.... Good Luck ALL!!

Keep grinding.:f_cool:

It was well worth it for him to shove -- you could fold a good part of your range, and if you don't he has nearly 30% equity.

Well so I went and played a little LIVE POKER today!!! In for 300$ out for 1296$..

should of walked away with another $270 but I made a really bad play, it was an outer body experience... Recap hand.

Blinds $1/3 9 handed..
Hero CO As4S

preflop- Utg- fold, UTG+1 call, Utg+2 call, HJ fold, LJ call, hero raise 25$ make it easy everyone folds UTG+2 calls... villain has been limp happy the whole time playing with him.

FLOP
Qh 4c 4h
UTG+2 dank leads for 15, hero reraise to 65.. UTG+2 call

Turn Qc
UTG+2 check blind ( DIK he watches TV apparently)
Hero check

River Ad
UTG+2 bets $100 his effective stack was about $380...

here is the outer body experience, of course he has the Q and made a higher boat, so maybe just a call or a fold.... for some crazy reason I decide to GO ALL-IN and get instantly called.. SMH... NO clue what I was thinking maybe that I had pockets A's.. I am not to sure... or maybe 4's full of a's was better the q's full of 4's.. not sure.

Good part is 3 hands later I stacked him with a higher straight were he had the bottom end of str8..

my bad for hand write up first one I did manual, gave it a shot.

Alright GL, Keep grinding...:f_drink:
