V is 21/19 with a 3bet% of 17 in 138 hands.
PF: my standard size of RFI from the SB is 4x, then I adapt to BB calling/3betting frequency.
I saw a chart (from Jonathan Little) that shows you should limp-raise with 99. I haven't adopted such strategy because I'm not sure I have the competency to read different V ranges and know where I'm at in that level yet, so I keep it simple.
As played, I don't think 99 is good enough for a 4bet, so I call. (I'd 4bet wider - AQ, JJ, A4s - against this opponent that seems to 3bet a lot, but 99 seems like a stretch)
F: check-raise: I wanted to deny equity, get calls from A8, 87, 98 and FD.
When he 3 bets, I'm not sure I'm good there. He might have sets (88, maybe 66) and TT+. Would he 3bet with a FD?
All the cards to come OTT are awful for me, except a 9, so I don't think it makes a lot of sense to call and reevaluate the turn.
So, I don't think he has enough bluffs for me to call him down, specially when all the cards to come are either indifferent or better for his range, but if I 4bet-shove I don't think he's calling with anything worse (maybe nut FD?). So fold seems to be a good option.
Maybe with the 9h I should've just called the flop? Idk.
What do you think?
