I am UTG+1 in a tournament. I have K♥: K♦:. Blinds are 1k, 2k. UTG straddles to 4k. I raise to 10k UTG+1. It folds around to UTG (aggressive player) who calls.
He then checks blind before the flop. Flop comes
I bet 10k. He then raises to 40k. And I call.
He then goes all in blind to the turn. The turn comes a
Straight away I'm thinking he has
:Ax:. I ask him if he has aces, to which he says "I promise I don't have aces". And I believe him. So realistically I'm thinking is the best he has is
,:5x:
or
:Jx:. But I think he'd re-raise pre-flop with
, so I rule that out. I think he could make this bet with
or
. So I called the all-in. Since flopping a set is pretty hard and I was already pot committed with only 15k left if I fold.
He turned over
for a straight and I lost the hand.
Do you think I played this hand badly? Should I have folded? I was correct with thinking he didn't have trips and I could never put him on the hand he had since he called 10k pre-flop out of position.
What would you have done here?
Thanks.
