I always coldcall this preflop, perhaps on the lowest limits (<5$) a 3bet preflop is optimal. On those limits I could 3bet/shove this preflop and expect to see a LOT of random KJ like hands.

On anything above 5$ or vs regular I would definatly coldcall preflop, or as played fold when he shoves.

This. Once you 3bet though you should be calling the shove IMO.

edit: rather, I frame it this way. If you 3bet preflop it should be with the intention of calling a shove.

Why are you that committed to calling a shove?? I mean, my preference here is definitely to cold call, but I'm not opposed to a 3bet here to try and get more information about what the villain's hand might be. His 4bet suggests that he has AK, QQ+ to me, so I would fold.

I 3bet this UTG miniraise all the time, but I just call if it's a normal raise. IMO only calling here will just attract everyone else to the pot, and playing AK vs 5 guys is quite bad.

I also think you can 3bet/fold in this spot, because a 3bet in this spot is only 6bb at the first level. That's 12% of the starting stack. I think you can fold because UTG miniraise/push is a quite strong line donks often take with monsters.

In the heat of the battle I probably call his push and flip vs 99 though.

Here we will have to agree to disagree because IMO calling AK and playing it multiway is fine in my books. We have "only" ~20x the raise size in effective stacks (so if people want to call with worse then it's still a pretty big mistake on their part), and can profitably get it in with TPTK even multiway most of the time.
