The 2-2.5k€ hole from start of month has been filled now roughly. So bit swingy August so far. Did record bit of session review and study session today. Will upload it at some point.

Quite a hand today on very good table...

Open MP, BU 3bet, SB call, BB call, I 4bet and everyone call. BU and SB were bit below 50bb I think and BB around 100bb. Flop only had like 30bb to shove. Funny thing is that as hands block each other so heavily I had quite a equity preflop as well:

lol so funny. was just thinking of Finland. I am in Estonia but have very good positive experiences with Finland. i think PLO100+ gets incredibly tough especially at Unibet where you cannot see or track the other players even more than one session? I would just grind 25€ buy-in cashgame and be happy.. i think you will just get crushed in €100+ ... looks real tough those stakes.

Games are pretty good in these limits. Probably on multitude of sites as well. Its definitely more aggro and there are more solid regs than plo25 but on other hand there are also more pure gamblers.

Anyway some spots from todays single session. Have nephew visiting so wont play more.

Talking of maniacs I run into biggest one I have ever seen today. He had like 900+bb at plo100 at one point but then went completely bananas. Including K932ts 230bb allin preflop. Did lose some big pots to him but luckily got some back in the end before he busted.

Frustrating sessions overall last two days. Sooooo many spots where people way overplay stuff preflop and get rewarded. Had kind of funny hand from today though:

PS: I kind of like villain play overall though (from strategical point of view as well).

Well to add to previous post. Obviously he needs some traps preferably in flop check range to make this river raise good which might not happen. It's also less of a thing with just one player left to act anyway. Otherwise he only reps some 6x boats/quads which might be thin as not all low boats necessarily want to even raise. That to be said in my shoes people don't usually trap but I think top set with nfd is trapping still lot here gto wise.

Frustration indicates that you wanted success too fast. Patience is key i think 👍🕹️

Btw there is now this preflop pass offer going on in mastermind. You can use preflop simulation freely for one rake option. That being PLO50-PLO200 in GGpoker. Using that now personally as my subcription ended.

Weekend was quite a headache poker wise. Classical case of "lets play everything and hit everything" kind of maniac who was crushing me. Did end up losing e.g. this close to 500€ pot to him. This was 4bet pot where SPR was 2.5. Would have not 4bet this hand without ds and would have also just x-f flop without two bdfd. With that though I thought its probably reasonable to pot. Obviously liked turn after opponent called flop. But... yeah.

Otherwise this guy just hit practical nuts half of time with any junk he happened to play. Plus was really aggro most of time so it makes you think he cant have it all the time. But yeah most of time he just happened to have it. At least when I decided to make call down.

Anyway did also go for bluff that I very very rarely would go for yesterday. Opponent is reggy player who I dont really see making hero calls. So I decided to put him to test having seen this type of bluff couple times in big boys games in Jnandez's stream:

He did fold in the end to time bank running out so its almost guaranteed he had some Ax. My value range would be pretty much A8, A2, 88 and 22. I would assume theory wise AK probably value bets as well for pot fair amount of time but not so sure if that is good in real life. Well at least versus this guy. Might be he had AK or AQ type hand.

Some crazy action today on tables. Posted one spot in hand analyze area where aggro way felt reasonable to me. But maybe we should still be careful there as we didnt have big pocket to bring more preflop equity.

Games were good once again today but results were not so good with over 500€ down. Reason for this? Well mainly once again absurdly bad player. Couple hand examples:

EP extremely wide player open, I 3bet to iso with AQ87ss on CO or BU. Pretty loose but I didn't yet have read on blinds being also super call happy. So it ends up 4way on flop with blinds cold calling and EP calling. Flop is AK5r, where I cbet small and SB call. Turn is 6♣: giving me open ender and nfd so I shove SPR 1. SB snaps with 7443ss no fd and hits non club 2 on river. Had 80% on turn.

Then there was solid EP open, MP call, I squeeze pretty good AAxx, BB cold call (same guy), EP 4bet, MP fold, I shove for 150bb, BB call and EP call. EP had AKK7ds, BB Q654ss. Flop came some J95, turn 5 and I were basically dead.

There were ton of these kind of spots where I lost over and over. That makes me sometimes thinking if these tables are really that good or not. I mean they are but also it gets so swingy.

Bit of sunshine on last session making 160€ or so profit but that had also bit nasty spot where I open AKKx from MP, CO call, SB call and BB call. Flop comes AK5r, I cbet half pot, BB snap raises pot. We were like 160bb deep or so and this player was passive. So I really didn't like this spot but having A I don't think fold is possible. I did just call in position, turn was blank 6 and money went in. BB shows AAxx with A high suit. Might have found fold without A potentially.

Hello, you make me consider joining PLO pool in near future, seems like fun fun game...
I believe deeper roll is needed for plo or not? Do you have some recommendations?

10 bin swings are not that rare so I would recommend to be on safe side with BRM. At least if losing roll is not an option.

When starting focus lot on getting decent foundation on preflop ranges. That Is area where pool on lower limits tend to leak a lot. Way too much calling especially for high rake game. Also folding way too little to 3bets. Once preflop side is on ok shape it will also make postflop easier.

PLO is a fun game. No doubt. At least in non-downswing mode.

For bankroll, it's like Negreanu's rake: more is better. 10bin swings are quite common, 20bin swings happen every now and then and 30bin swings are not that rare either. For mathematical perspective, even 30bin bankroll is enough if you can drop stakes and are willing to do so. But for psychological perspective, if you get upset if you lose significant portion of your bankroll, make sure it's big enough so those 10-20bin swings won't affect yoiu mentally too hard.

I totally agree with Ghaleon that the first thing is to learn preflop. You can't memorize everything, so you need to understand what makes a PLO hand good or bad for different situations, why we open tighter from early positions etc. Mastermind's preflop trainer is free atm, and we have our own thread about practising preflop for free: https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=431398

You don't have to be perfect for preflop ranges, but once you are close enough, it will make postflop so much easier. Most spots that are difficult postflop are caused by bad preflop hand selection.

From those hands third one with QQ43ss is probably too wide preflop to call that 3bet. In flop we were roughly flipping though. Other ones seems fine.
