Highlights:
- Start of Bankroll challange - this is always exciting, to commit to something challanging and long-term looking.
- Re-start of the coaching sessions, happy to return in coaching - fresh look on my game and outside expertise are invaluable. I'd like to try out working with different coaches this year anywhere from 3 to 6 would be my target number. I found that every coach has his own approach, technique, tools and way to teach and I'd like to explore all those different angles. So if you know a good Spin & Go coach for 50+ limits - please let me know.
- Sharing my rakeback maximizing strategy in 4 posts:post 1, post 2, part 3, part 4. I wanted to do it for long time and had a lot of doubts if this is the right thing to do. I'm happy it is out.
- Making the first steps in my side project - creation of community portal for Spin and Go grinders. I've registered the domain, put first user stories and reached out to similar tool developer and GGPoker security team about leaderboard data usage. This is another thing that was on my mind for quite some time and I'm very excited about what it could become.
- 5arittariusA finished his Bankroll Challenge (post in the reporting thread) and replied on my congratulations with this message:

This is the best acknowledgement I could have received.

Lowlights:
- My home internet connection line went down today, I'm posting it from mobile hotspot.
- Our daughter's first tooth gave her lost of pain, she cries a lot and we as parants can't do much about it. It is hard to bear your child cry (though way less annoying than other children's cry 😊)

Good luck at the tables and hope you had a great start of 2025 year as well!

I also happen to be a web developer, already built a couple tools like a PT4 fake hand history generator (for rakeback, leaderboards, etc tracking), a simple rakeback and bonus calculator and almost finished a database/population analysis tool (basically a hand matrix generator).
I don't have a lot of free time at the moment but feel free to dm me if you need help with the side project!

A few updates

I've got some thrilling updates to share with you all, especially for those of us deep in the world of Spin and Go poker.

Internet Backup from the Stars (not Pokerstars)
First off, I've taken a step to ensure I'm never offline when grinding. I've ordered Starlink, Elon Musk's satellite internet service. The idea of getting internet from the stars is pretty cool, right? I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival and will share my experience once it's up and running.

Spoiler

Diving into High-Volume Grinding
For a while now, I've been on a quest to understand the intricacies of high-volume grinding, possible cEVs at the high limits and effective strategies. Recently, a kind soul shared some very valuable Discord channels with me, which have been a goldmine of information:

- Poker Hero - A Russian-speaking community with a vibrant player pool. It's especially active and focuses on Winamax, but the insights are universal. Join Here
- Nerd Side - More geared towards GG Poker players, this server might be less active but still offers valuable discussions in Russian. Join Here
- Kurnik - For Polish players looking for a community focused on Spin & Go. Join Here
- Team Bas Poker - An English-speaking server dedicated to Spin training, providing a great resource for English speakers. Join Here

I'm currently processing a flood of new information from these communities, which has been immensely beneficial.

Introducing Grind-Republic: A Portal for Poker Grinders
Now, onto something I'm really passionate about - my side project, Grind-Republic. I'm working on creating a community portal specifically for those who are the ultra-marathoners of poker, regularly competing for and winning leaderboards. It's surprising how little guidance there is out there for becoming a true grinder, as these dedicated players are seldom found on traditional forums like PokerStrategy or Reddit.

Here are the first two ideas I'm excited to bring to the Spin and Go community, aiming to provide immediate value:

1. SwongSim Web-App - I plan to convert SwongSim into a web application with updated payout structures, an enhanced user experience, and improved simulation scenarios with better graphical representations. This will make simulation more accessible and insightful for everyone. It is a great tool, that was developped by Max Cut, poker enthusiast and definately deserves to be developped further.
2. Leaderboard Analysis Tool - This tool will analyze different leaderboard payout structures, showing the points needed for various prizes, historical trends, and how these change based on the day of the week. For those of us running leaderboards, this will streamline session planning, making it more strategic and efficient.

To give you an idea, here's an example analysis for the GG Global $200 leaderboard:

The vision behind Grind-Republic is to foster a community where Spin and Go grinders can easily share and access knowledge, supporting each other in our poker journeys. I've secured the domain grind-republic.com (nothing to see there yet) and will be channeling my efforts into bringing this vision to life. This might mean a temporary decrease in my forum activity and playing, but I believe this project will be worth it.

Share your thoughts, any feedback would be highly appreciated.

A Few Words About Heavy RTA Usage

There was a big scandal on X involving Nacho Barbero (@nacho_barbero), an ACR ambassador, who posted a picture of his session with GTOWizard in the background. The whole topic of Real-Time Assistance (RTA) usage was raised and discussed, and somehow he got away with it. I won't go into details about the scandal, but I want to share my experience using RTA in my daily life. This RTA tool is called Grok 2 by xAI.

It all started with my decision to use more AI assistants in my life to understand their capabilities and limitations better. I began with simple prompts like "proofread this ..." and "help me compose an email in German to... about...". However, in the recent month, it went out of control; I spend about 4-6 hours daily on X, consulting, researching, planning, and collaborating with Grok on a very broad selection of topics. Grok helps me plan my day, manage projects, write blog posts, brainstorm ideas, and generally makes me much more productive.

This super powerful companion and productivity boost have raised numerous ethical concerns and insights. Some of them include:

- Authorship of the outcome: When you give a relatively short prompt to Grok, and it produces a very good description of what you had in mind, can you still claim authorship if you use it as your email, post, or article? My interaction with it has evolved over time, from "wow, how good is this answer, let's copy-paste it" to "this is a good start, but we need to work on it more". Now, instead of blindly trusting its expertise, we go through multiple rounds of revision, rewrites, comments, and discussions before I use "our" results, allowing me to comfortably claim ownership of the outcome.

- Productivity and pace: With a significant boost in productivity, my life has gained quite a lot of velocity. I'm moving much faster through my to-do lists and progressing on my ideas and projects. I expect this effect to spread wherever AI assistants are used, with massive impacts. It's already evident in the U.S. since Trump's inauguration; the speed of changes, decisions, and actions by his new administration is unprecedented. When everything speeds up, my FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) doesn't allow me to sit still. I'm feeling like I'm in a hypomanic state already, and I'm aware that a manic state is close if left unmanaged. Slowing down is becoming harder. For me, and I assume for you as well, a lot of time is spent in "hesitation" phases where you know you want to do something but don't know where to start, if it's worth doing, or can't decide between options. Grok removes these hesitations by providing solid plans, good drafts, and expert analyses of different options, making it easy to progress in any endeavor.

- Versatility of Grok's assistance: Here are just a few unexpected ways Grok has helped me:

-- Analyzing Google Spreadsheets: Taking a screenshot of my Google Spreadsheet, asking for improvements. The list of suggestions was spot-on, showing deep understanding of the spreadsheet's purpose and adjusting complex formulas for Google Sheets.

-- Improving workplace setup: Taking a picture of my workplace setup and asking for enhancements. The suggestions were practical; I ordered various items from Amazon for cable management, paper document organization, and am looking into monitor arms and laptop holders.

-- Project management mentorship: Asking for guidance on project management for "Grind Republic". Grok helped craft a project plan, estimates, milestones, and offered to schedule regular check-up sessions, maintaining context between sessions and genuinely supporting me on this journey.

- Personal Development: I was initially concerned about my personal degradation, fearing that using Grok for everything might make me unable to make decisions or create plans independently. However, I've observed the opposite effect. Collaborating with Grok daily has made me more articulate, decisive, less biased, and more analytical. Just as you pick up traits from the people around you, the same happens with AI assistants.

If you don't use Grok in your everyday life, I highly recommend starting. Grok 2 is awesome, and I'm eagerly waiting for Grok 3, which should be orders of magnitude more powerful.

My daughter was born at the end of 2024, just missing the start of [Generation Beta] which begins in 2025. One of the defining characteristics of this generation will be immersion in AI technology from birth. To bridge the gap between our generations and prepare for what's coming, I consciously decided to use AI wherever possible, and the results have been astounding. I'm surprised there's still no AI Poker coach that can instantly analyze a player's leaks, level, style, field tendencies, and exploits, provide a manageable development plan, strategy adjustments and guide through emerging challenges.

Does anyone know if such a Poker AI Assistant exists or is in development by someone?

Don't the companies get to keep the data you submit to them through the app? I ask Grok to look at my work spreadsheet or internal memo, they have a copy of my spreadsheet/memo which means I would lose my job if it came out.

This may be the case, definitely worth checking with your infosec team. Spreadsheet that I was sharing was a poker tracking one, so my personal information.

But this is a good point, now companies try to limit the use of this powerful tool to prevent data leaks, but if the comparable tool won’t be provider internally it’s a lost battle as your workforce is so inefficient and uncompetitive.

But the strive to excel in whatever you are doing will force you to use AI assistants despite company policies, on your phone or personal laptop, providing the context of the problem / project / task in a backdoor way. Adoption of AI assistant is inevitable whatever company policies are.

This was painful, nothing more to say. I didn't play quite well, and I ran even worse. Played a few times tired and the absolute worst run was on Wednesday, when I wanted to defend my 1st place, but Siggy79 was so persistent in his attempt to overtake me, that I gave up in the last hour or so. It reminded me of a prisoner's dilemma somehow. I could defend and he could keep chasing; I would win, he would lose, but actually, we both would lose big time in rake generated without additional rakeback.

Thank you for your support, Untiltable. I appreciate it a lot.

My downstreak goes on; I lost 1.2K in a live cash game and some more here and there in other rooms. Need to take a break, and gladly, I have some options where to focus my attention.

In the next few posts, instead of me whining about dispersion and my losses, I'll share some non-game related stuff here.

Grind Republic First Feature Design

After much hesitation, doubts, and discussions with friends, I've decided to put my money and efforts into development of the first feature to the Spin and Go grinders community. The most straightforward idea I could think of was a spin-off of the very useful and popular utility, SwongSim. (Link to the initial forum thread)

Throughout this blog, I've repeatedly discussed converting cEV to expected ROI / profits, and I knew about SwongSim's existence. However, in my early grinding days, I played on a Mac and couldn't run this tool. Time passed, I acquired one Windows laptop, then another, and during my last coaching session, my coach introduced, shared, and explained how to run simulations on SwongSim to see potential outcomes. I spent about 5-6 hours playing with various values of payouts, cEV, rakeback, and my weekly / monthly / yearly volume, which left me with mixed feelings. I definitely appreciated the tool, but its user experience (UX) was far from ideal. Nonetheless, big thanks to the author (Max Cut :f_drink:) for developing and sharing it with the community. If you search for "SwongSim" on YouTube, the number of videos is surprisingly high, validating its value to players.

Spoiler

My plan for the MVP is to re-implement it on the web with:

- Improved UX/UI;
- Updated payout structures for all sites offering Spin & Go;
- Enhanced visualization graphs for simulated runs, making them easy to share;
- Sharing with the community and setting up a feedback loop for future improvements.

I'm not a UX/UI expert, so I decided to seek professional help. I've known and loved TopCoder for over 15 years.

TopCoder

Back in my Uni days, it was one of the very few platforms hosting competitive programming challenges. For those, who are not familiar with competitive programming: they involved solving Olympiad-like algorithmic problems, finding errors in others' code, and challenging them with inputs that would yield incorrect outputs. I wasn't the best, but I was decent, and it was fun. I even reached the first division but wasn't committed enough to climb further. Here's my TopCoder profile: Link

Later, they expanded to a crowd-sourcing platform, adding UX/UI, development, Data Science, and QA. I participated in some mobile development challenges and won a few.

I appreciate TopCoder's crowd-sourcing model because:
- It's good for participants - No contract is needed; you sign up for a challenge, do your best, submit your work if you're happy with it, and receive scoring/feedback. If you don't deliver, you simply move on without repercussions.
- It's good for the client - Instead of contracting blindly with a freelancer, you post the challenge to the community and end up with multiple submissions to choose from.

Given SwongSim's niche and potentially challenging nature for "typical" UX/UI designers, I thought the TopCoder community would be ideal. The challenge cost me about $1450, ran for 9 days, and is now in the Screening phase; I expect results tomorrow. There were 6 submissions, and I'm eager to see them...

Many thanks for reading - warm hugs to you and stay tuned for updates...

Just re-read the post, my fear of commitment is so obvious...

Summary:
- Was busy with a side project, family stuff, and an education application. Made great progress: signing a new rent agreement today. We’ll move to a bigger apartment in the most vibrant location in Berlinβ€”got very lucky to find this place. There’s a good chance I’ll get a voucher from the unemployment agency for a 3-month Data Science and AI bootcamp.
- Played only one short session of NL500. Very stupid decision: after finishing a bottle of wine, I thought, "Let’s try out a different leaderboard for a change," and went to play NL500. Was lucky to finish in profit, but the session could’ve turned out very differently. Only accumulated 20 LB points, so no leaderboard run for me in any discipline.
- Grok 3 is out, and I’m amazed by its capabilities, especially in "Deep Search" mode when you follow its reasoning process. We, as knowledge workers, are soooooo fucked. I don’t know what my competitive advantage on the market is anymore...

As you have mentioned suited connectors, did you mean streight flush and not just straight? What's your calculations look like?
