Back to tables today for bit. Though watching women ice hockey final now. But yeah tables were good.

Preflop on thin side but plausible imo. Not sure if my play on turn was too optimistic here. Felt like opponent will have trips of somekind decent amount of time so went for thin value. Does help to have three spades and T blocker but yeah could be too optimistic. I think alternative line is to check turn and fold river if facing bet.

This was weird one... Me having both A♣: and K♣: villain really should not be leading anything. But yeah I guess he was bluffing something as he had only 3bb behind after river pot.

Well I did go for bit of bluff vs same guy bit later. I dont mind his river call necessarily but turn call is just way way too wide.

PS: My turn barrel might be bad but I think we want to have in general some of these type of combos that we can actually bet-fold having very low equity but kinda good blockers. Without any nfd blocker though might be too wide. River is obviously mandatory barrel and I will have ton of QJ here.

It does matter what sort of trips one has and usually the weaker ones are nice to keep in call range. This guy did not agree though, luckily. Got it in with 90% equity.

This was interesting turn spot. Solver actually open folds preflop but I think this can be played profitably versus most opponents. Flop I dont cbet that often but this hand has lot of merits for it. Turn I think we should either lead or x-r. X-f or x-c both feels pretty weak and nasty side of x-c is we still lose to some 66 blocker play or obviously any semibluff can hit top pair and win. Was wondering in game if villain value bets straight this big but on other hand it is fairly drawy board and boats are still pretty rare. Opponent probably has bit more boats as well. But on other hand we do have 45 blockers and somewhat decent equity versus less than boats. Boats also have some incentive to fast play as we are OOP. One of very few times I have pulled off this sort of move.

Very non standard play on this but when you have one of these maniac type guys (or close to it) it becomes quite tempting option. My plan was to still fold vs 5bet. I guess he probably had some top or middle pair without much back up to fold turn.

is it better to use villain's hand as a bluff catcher?

Main issue in my mind is does he get called often enough by weaker to block value bet? It might sound weird as he has 2nd nuts but point is his range is polarised after basically potting flop and turn. So even when he uses small sizing it's just quite challenging to find bluffs in his shoes. Plus he shouldn't value bet weaker than K high straight ever.

So what bluffs are reasonable? Well if we take the prime candidates of QQ and TT. Former makes set on river which would probably check to hope for free showdown. Later often make straight on river as any side card of 8 or higher apply. So that leave some TT55 type mainly. It's tough to see much other type of bluffs really when accounting big flop and turn bets. Personally I would not have leads in villain shoes from BB.

Not to mention I also have ton of different K high straights and decent amount of nuts. So I probably don't need to widen call range further. Even in theory.

Now I don't necessarily mind his decision to call as he does have TT in his hand. But then again by checking he would not risk as much for bluff catch. If hand had gone from his view as flop checked, betting turn and blocking river it would make more sense as ranges that come to river would be so much wider. E.g. he could have some Q765 with Q high fd there very reasonably as bluff attempting to get some two pair type to fold.

PS: Also not fan of these pot bets on flop as I can seriously start to fold weaker two pair and even some of weakest bottom sets right away...

Wow what a mindblowing horrible play by him calling all those large bets pre and post in Omaha with that hand. What site is that?

Site is unibet.

Villain was doing most of the betting. Preflop 3bet is ok but on thin side. I would personally usually just call. Flop he should mainly check with his range but if cbetting smaller 1/3 to max half pot would make way more sense to challenge overpairs and other weaker hands. If he bet small I don't necessarily mind barrel on A turn. River should obviously be x-fold.

From my point of view I think just calling make lot os sense on flop and turn as set needs less protection and board is still rainbow on turn. On river when he checks we are mainly good but occasionally he perhaps has better set. But clear value bet imo.

For last two days I can say it has been absolutely soul crushing run. Around 2k€ down and not so sure if it's down at all in EV side. Just absurd amount of spots where it's flip or I am ahead and can't hold. Well it is what it is.

Very short session done for today already. Did actually hold this flip spot which feels almost unbelievable with recent run. MP open, CO call, SB call, I squeeze from BB. MP and SB call. Decided to pot flop for SPR 1.5 or so. Its low enough that MP or SB should rarely connect. Though SB in this case proved out to be playing anything so does not apply as much to him.

Yesterday session was looking decently good one but ended in breakevenish. Got into this setup spot where I run into one of absolute worst case but still had over 40% to win.

Nasty one today. CO reg open, I 3bet being deep stacked thinking I can also call vs 4bet. But then this happen...

Well I checked KKJ8ds equity vs two AA and it was exactly 33%. Then again its possible both players dont have quite any AAxx in their range. Nasty part result wise was that I would have won whole thing. I was thinking in game that I would continue with bit better connectivity.

Nice pot vs one of these super high vpip fellows. Well his postflop play is not necessarily that bad. So I open BU, BB call. BB lead 3/4 pot, I raise, BB 3bet and we get it in. Problem though in reality in these spots when SPR is this high my stack off range will get very defined. Pretty much 88, 5433, A54x with at least one bdfd.

This one was maybe overplay from my side. Need closer to 30% equity. Versus straight we have only 20%. On other hand doesnt need to be that often JJ or similar combo.

Tiny profit today but why the heck I always have to be "collaretal damage" when maniacs go to monkey tilt and try their best to lose?

I basically sighed already when I saw that I got solid AA. Because this maniac had just lost big pot so I knew its almost guaranteed he will 3bet/squeeze. That is great in EV but I also have been crushed so often in these hands. Well if someone can guess villain hand then gratz!

Aaaannd one more day of losing 1k€. Basically everything go south in every way. Anyway optimal way to play against me seems to be to 3bet whatever and cbet. Because either you have sucked out, will suckout or I have missed flop. Had today literally one guy 3betting A832o and wins. Another 3bet-calling ATT4o and hitting top boat on T77ss.

Just so damn frustrating when you see pool making such absurd mistakes everywhere. But doesn't help when no hand connects ever.

Yeah that sucks especially if that money matters. PLO10 wouldn't matter right if you lose 5BI; but starting from PLO25 there's lot of money in play, right... I personally gave up the dream for now to reach €600 buy-in level, I am planning to stay lower.

Well sure losing 1k€ does matter for me but point is that playing plo10 you dont make living in Finland. Anyway today was bit more friendly poker wise. Though I only played short second session before sauna. First session started with this unfortunate hand. I thought about checking back but imo with two bdfd its bit too good for it. On turn had 45% equity.

Well after that it was bit of profit in smaller tables. Second session though I probably got under skin of this sort of reggy player. It was probably because of this big setup (especially for HU). I 3bet pre and we get it in on flop.

Spoiler

Bit later I 3bet in this. SB also called and folded to my squeeze so flop SPR was bit lower. Potted flop and shoved turn. I would just fold in villain shoes on flop.

Spoiler

Then he decided to 3bet-call BvB vs my AA. This was basically heavy tilt issues or clear lack of hand strength understanding or likely both to some degree. Hmm well I checked solver wise and its actually very close in EV between call and 3bet. But yeah calling vs 4bet is at least bad without ds combo basically. Reason for this is just how bad hand does vs AA, AKK type hands. AKK is supposed to 4bet 100% of time BvB 100bb or less deep. But yeah by checking these things you will notice interesting stuff like I would have thought call would be more clearly preferred (only 0.03 EV difference).

Spoiler

Then there was this last bigger collision. I probably should have just shoved flop with overpair and two gs though and call with e.g. two bdfd version. But anyway because of just calling we end up on this interesting river bluff catch spot. In river we might argue in this case with spazzy maybe tilted opponent to call any straight. But in terms of blocker and unblockers I really like my hand. So obviously we have Q♣: but also we unblock busted straight draws so JT9 completely.
