Yesterday was another loosing day, again over 200 under EV. I'm constantly loosing on the turn and river, against dominated hands. My balance this month is around 0. At the end of the session I even tilted a little. If the untill the end of the month my luck doesn't change I'll seriously reconsider playing poker.

If nothing else I'll probably open an account somewhere else then Full Tilt. I'm not a superstitious person, or a believer in conspiracy theories, but since I withdrew money from Full Tilt I can't get better than breakeven and I'm surely not going to grind long hours just for rakeback (which off course could get erased as well in one session).

Tilt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Andrej, dont give up, take some break of poker, maybe do not play for some days, take some sport activities,go out with friend and your girlfriend, ESPECIALLY DO NOT START TO TILT, this is where others are taking your money...I know how you feel, i went many times through what you are going now. I had even 40BI (down)swings and i am still here;)... I propose that you dont think of poker too much as some add-on job for earning add-on money (you said your goal is to cash out 500$ each month..dont think to much about that), but think about it as your nice hobby, as something you like to do (like playing football f.ex.) and like to learn, like to improve, like to do some math and statistics and to improve your way of thinking etc....Also try to play some day on lower limit, just to motivate you a little and to calm you down...

Hey RahX,

Skype me if you need to unload :) , but I can only echo what drachdudek said. I hated being where you are now and the best think I could do was to make a change, any change.

Since it's only rakeback that you have - if no deposit bonuses where you have to grind - I would just do this:

Open up a couple of tables of NL10 SH instead and play some real poker to rediscover your love of the game. SSS is a cruel mistress and the best antidote is to leave her be for a couple of days to let her get over her bad mood she is in with you. Then, go back and play a few less tables so you can ensure you avoid any tilt or misplays while you wait for your luck to return.

Tim

Thanks for your kind words guys.

The thing I hate most of all right now, is that Poker is affecting me negatively. It's not my play that is suffering, it's just my psyche that is suffering. That's why I'm in this attitude, cause when I'm bitching about things I can't control, I'm actually behaving like a gambler would do. For some people that would reflect while they play, for me it affects me when I'm away from the tables and that's no good.

The problem is that I don't have a reference, that it will eventually change, for what I know it can go on forever, next month could be as that one.

So for me right now, is just lack of confidence and lack of a way to fight it back. If a good player dominates me in a hand, I never get angry, I learn a new thing, I get to see where to improve, all this experiences make me better, but with the sessions I'm loosing that way I don't see what I can actually do, but try to play trough that. Volume should decrease variance right?

Sorry again for the whiny post, I'll try to be in a better mood next time :f_love:

Hey Rah,

Sorry to hear that you are in rough waters right now. But I am encountering the same problem with my attitude after loosing sessions... At the moment I do not have a lot of time for poker so I have a natural brake :) Also I stepped away from SSS for this moment and when I play poker I play 27-man Turbo SNG's for fun. And you know what? Because it is fun and without pressure I crush them! Or is it the other way around?... Or the format fits me better. lol

Anyhow work on your mindset in any way, otherwise poker is not fun. And it is terrible if poker messes up your time around poker!

Greetz,

Tampa

Hey man,

just a quick question as i'm pondering doing a little short stacking at NL100 FR, How many buy ins do you use for your BRM? I've currently got around 65 for this level, is this going to be enough, or would you recommend waiting until I have 100?

Also, i'd imagine the rake generated is pretty impressive, how quickly do you accumulate points (or FPP's) or whatever platform you're on?

I think it's more than enough, I personally try to have at least 75, but frm my experience nl50 and nl100 aren't that much different.

As for rake I generate 3,5 dollars of rake per 100 hundred hands, which equals 1$ rakeback per 100 hands on Full Tilt.

great stuff, make that 72 buy ins now. Though im running so well at this short stack heads up stuff, i'm not sure why i'd want to switch back to SSS on a FR! lol But it can get a bit tedious, always good for a change, and if the rake producing is so high I can really push on for platinum status on Stars, and im cashing in a very high volume of the satellite's which is equating to $11 each time. Which is for me better than any rakeback deal around!

Hi just read through it for the first time, i like it.

One question, are you mining HH or atleast buying minied HH on NL200, I would think this would be a must be for SSS because it makes it so much easier to find the fish & spots to steal and resteal.

Yes it's a must I think, you can't datamine Fulltilt though.

Another bad session yesterday, didn't anger me though. Hopefully I can mantain that attitude from now on as it's the only logical one.

I was just watching 2m 2mil and they had a lockdown. Since my GF will be away tommorrow and I have to drive her at 5 in the morning I'll decide I'll play as much poker tommorrow as humanly possible.

It was an idea I got when Daphunk did something similar and I said that when I'm playing on a limit with reasonable stakes and I'm already comfortable enough on it I'll try this.

I'm mostly doing it for fun (yes grinding for 12 hours sounds like fun to me :), :f_biggrin:). Only rule is that if I loose 15BI I quit for the day.

I'll try to update sometimes in between, and if someone want's to watch it for a little on Mikogo, Skype just shoot me a message.

Some more details:

-I'll be 16 tabling NL100 on Full Tilt
-Background music will be some 2002-2004 techno (Dave Clark, Jeff Mills, Cristian Smith) to keep me energized trough the day
-I'll take breaks just to move a little and eat something
-This grind should get me to diamond, since i'm only missing a couple of hundred points.

Good luck with your grind.

It really amaze me on how you people can maintain your level of gameplay in grinding 16 tables for several hours.

When I had huge downswing to FT ($4000 balance down to $1000) I decided to trabsfer my roll in Pstars and started all over again. I think it actually broke my losing sessions. Fresh start and new stats.

By the way, I still need 2300 points to be upgraded to diamond. I am only doing 6 tabling sss with BB/100 of 8.5. I am still not comfortable 9 tabling thus I am not generating enough points for daimond level.

As soon as I hit my balance goal for the month I will again give it a shot for 9 tabling. :)

First update for the session:

3300 hands, 3 hours and 50 minutes, 2165 Full Tilt points. I was running hot :f_cool:Took a break and now I'm ready to start again. If anyone wants to make me some company on Skype and Mikogo he's welcome.

P.S. I forgot to mention, that with today's grind, I'll also make enough points for the 26inch monitor in the store.

Wish me GL!

Man very good session, i am very impressed with your play. I am reading your blog and i learn so much from your blog, i used this make progress in my play and that help me alot. Why? becose from my $50 i get to $2 _o:, i have a break 1month and after reading alot of strategy guides and your blog my bankroll now is $19 :f_biggrin:. Keep writing and playing!! TNX man you help me in my progress to make money for real

P.S
Good luck on the tables!!

Second part of my grind finished :)

Total hands 6500, lost 35$ in the second part, still 150 up, collected 3600 FTP. After the session I ordered the 26inch monitor from FT store
_cool:

Now I'm ready for the third part.

@Just4bet: I'm very happy to be a motivation for you, just keep on improving, follow BRM and be patient and you will make it.

WOW very nice grind with a huge winnings.

I myself cannot even play 4k hands straight in asingle session. Your rakenack must be so huge. :)

The grind is finished for today, since now I'm gonna watch Inter's match and then I'll go to pick my GF up.

I'm really happy about today's result, I ran pretty well which is very nice, since today's goal were mostly the points for diamond. I made some mistakes, but that's kinda normal at that volume. Only thing I missed was someone to chat to during play, well it'll be for next time.

Here are all the session stats and the graph:

I was playing very tight 9/8, played for 9 and a half hour so about 900 hands/hour. I generated around 300$ rake (about 80$ rakeback), 4528 FT points and 1500 tickets for the Ivey promotion.

That's it _cool:
