November 6 (Evening session)

This session is a big downswing. I lost $589 in just 700 hands. I went on when I was dealt KK and AA in simultaneously on two different tables but both cards did not hold. Took a short coffee break when I was already losing $350 but the losing streak continued for the rest of the day.

November 7

Midnight I took another break. My mind set is "this is another day". Slowly I was able to recover the losses I had before the midnight then suddenly my premium cards are getting paid.

In general, I played too bad (on tilt) and too loose during the evening session but I managed to get a hold of myself and recovered the losses with exta winnings during my early morning session, :)

well if i had known you were such a stereotypical superproductive asian i would never have signed up for this. :P

no im just kidding lol. im am extremely impressed with you.

first of all you just beat my personal record in most winnings in 1 session.
my personal record is around 1000$.

secondly that you manage to work a full time job and still put in so many hands is just... wow.

lastly, enjoy that tiny lead while you still have it because tomorrow im taking it back. muhahaha

so the scores at the moment are:

Raun: 1930$
tac3znarf: 1973$

exciting

p.s. i think it would be easier if you let me know when you have the time for that sweatsession instead of the other way around.

p.p.s. sorry to post so much in your blog but i am really enjoying this competition

@ Raun - I just broke the $2k winnings marker. I don't have any plan of slowing down.

My 1st 200 hands in this session was crazy big downswing. I cannot win any coinflip, losing premium cards such as AA,KK and AK vs dominated hands. I am sure I was already on tilt but still what can you do in this kind of situation?

I was forced to take a short coffee break when I was already losing $400. 1st hand after the break was also sucked out.

Then I decided to be more conservative when I am up against semi-tight regulars and isolate the fish when having premium cards and it worked. Blind battles also gave me some decent pots. It really feels good when your not so decent hands are also being payed by the fish when you have a very small investment to start with. :):)

I planned to put more volume on my games this weekend but I think I can't do it. I can only stick to 3-4 hour sessions, more than that I am already losing my focus and is already prone to mistakes and "tilt".

grats on diamond status

and about that JJ hand, i'd definately raise preflop since utg is likely to call but you are less likely to get in a multiwaypot and with a hand like JJ that is a definate advantage imo.

anyway on the turn i guess you have to call but it smells like a set or 2 pair.

Thanks Raun. I finally reached diamond status. :)

I just ordered the diamon shirt- black. Ship it!!

About the JJ, you are right on the spot Raun, he had 22. It was my mistake preflop. I was busy on two other tables when I was dealt with this hand. When I saw the stats of the limper I played it safe and don't want to see any overcards on my JJ.

BTW this is something I read in poker materials: If you are afraid of the limpers then there is no point playing your hand. So I guess in this situation it was true. :)

I played 1K hands today. I end up almost break even. I think losing 3 consecutive coinflips put me on tilt. I was winning $250 when I was dealt these hands (around 650th hands) then suddenly I was already -$380 on 760th hand. I am just thankful I still end up winning $13. Talk about swings within a session. Whew!!

I can no longer continue playing today since I still have to work later. I badly need at least 6 hours sleep. :)

It would be helpful if you would make like small strategic articles like the one you made in the start about how you limp in early position and hten get alot of dead money. Since we know you play SSS a little bit different then the rest it would be fun to see more of those examples where you explain more about how you think when making decisions. Otherwise I like the blog :)

Good luck playing...

@arisko

I would love to create such articles but I still feel that I lack experience since I am not yet an extablished SSS'er. One can easily tell that I have been lucky for the past month. :)

I will try to pull out interesting hands to discuss if I can find the time since balancing family, work and poker is already taxing.

Something new happened to me today. I doubled on all 6 tables I was playing towards the end of my session! I won more than $500 in just less than 50 hands.

I was dealt with AA,KK,AA,AQ,AK within a very short period. All of them got paid! Even the AQo which was dominated by QQ which I spiked the A on the river.

I actually ran out of NL400 tables to play because I am being required to start with the chips I left with. So I just decided to end the session instead of just playing 2-3 tables. :)

This is more than enough to compensate the lost I incurred during my evening evening session. :)

Today I won $219 in 1.3K hands.

I felt so tired towards the end of my session. I should've quit when I was already on my 1K hand. This was the time when I have commited several huge mistakes thus shipping most of my winnings for the day. I Lost more than $400 of my winnings thus I decided to end the session.

I started my session really off. I was already losing $400 in my 1st 150 hands. I decided to take a coffee break since I cannot win any coinflip and my PP are not holding.

After the break, I started to pick up some big pots and managed to recover the losses in less than 100 hands. :)
