There's so many Hit-n-run specialists in the net today that i've been wondering how they should be beat.
Personally I kinda know how to do that but even though it's EV++ it gets boring after awhile, and besides, playing deep is way more fun.
So my question is, how do you beat short stackers?
To beat a shortstacker you need to know his stats and how tight he plays his SSS. There's a good article on how to play against SSS players in the strategy section. I think you shouldn't be worried about this until you reach silver and can read the article. There are a lot of players that sit down shortstacked but don't play a profitable strategy so, as I said, you need stats and reads to be definite that the player uses SSS. And you need to know the basics of SSS also to know how to respond.
The only really affective way to beat a short stack is through good notes/reads.....
Notes/reads will tell you if they are plaing SSS or just a fish buying in short/not reloading when they lose chips. The fish are treated like normal fish...
Notes/reads will tell you if they are a basic SSS, or working in advanced SSS techniques. Knowing they will only play AA,KK, AK in EP or knowing they will only re-raise JJ+ ect can only be found out from notes and a large amount of hands.
Notes will tell you if they are mass multitabling for 4 tables or 16. A 4 tabler might be new but also might be advanced with concentration on less tables....only way to know is through notes\reads.
Notes\reads will tell you what level of blind defender they are to stealers. Which can come in real handy when sitting directly to the right of SSS'rs.
I can go on for almost every aspect of NL poker just like an other style people play....
In the end, you can choose to focus on beating SSS players or you can ignore them to focus on all the other fish that play short or deep for that matter. There is so much other money at the tables that you can pretty much avoid SSS'rs all together if you really want to....
As a side note, it is much easier to pick out other styles of SSS if you are proficient at it rather than trying to figure out the tricks if you just know the play premium hands with 20 BB.....

Then they will leave and you can just get the money back from other fish players.
