15 hands is ofcourse far too little to conclude that he'd be a maniac, but if that was also your impression from what you saw of his game in those hands, then I'd have played it exactly the same way.

Yes if your impression was that he may be a maniac then I like the play as well.

If he however just had these stats without looking too aggressive I like a calldown after his flopraise a bit more as a value 3-bet is a bit too much.
River can be check/raised then as it should be better than a donkbet. If he had a draw he may bluffbet but not call and if he had a twopair he may even 3-bet with a worse hand where you can't 3-bet on your own against a raise (would be too much).

thanks yea he really was the most maniacal maniac I'd ever seen. Would cap 54o preflop, cap the flop on AQ6 boards etc.

By 3betting the flop I was also trying to get SB out of the hand. The possibility was good cause I know CO would cap it. But then again many draws possible.
