Some critics label it as the best movie since the Matrix, but personally I think that's grossly exaggerated. Being a typical blockbuster, it lacks any deep (or original for that matter) story line, and pretty much the entire plot is derivable from the two minute trailer. Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, but I like to see it for what it is: an introduction of awesome 3D effects and beautiful CGI.
Avatar was my first 3D cinema experience. Loved it! And going to see it again tomorrow. 
Amazing Special Effects and though the plot was highly predictable, i was still enjoyable.

Great movie though.
technically it is brilliant and the 3D effect works perfectly but the story is unoriginal and full of clichés.
still, i loved the movie and would recommend anyone to watch it.

I'm expecting the storyline to be dull and cliche, ofcourse, but definitely going to see it because of the effects and the 3D stuff...
Hey, let's save some time and do a recap of pretty much all the future posts: cool graphics, poor story, loved it.
thats what James Cameron does. He takes a very simple plot and makes a hell of a movie out of it. Titanic was great and have grossed over $1,8 BILLION, still it was a simple plot, it was even based on a true story. Im excited to see where Avatar ends up on the World Wide BoxOffice.

Yes, the story is a cliche but its so well done it deserves a 9/10

I liked the cliches. Enjoyed to find out what part belonged to what movies
