I think I would be a good fit, because I'm really motivated to learn learn and learn about poker. It would be really great to have other players around to directly bounce ideas off, as well as be able to give advice to others.

I have been playing for about 2 years, but with the pokerstrategy edge only for just over a year. However after the year that I have been learning with pokerstrategy I have reached a really good position. I started playing superturbos, then moved to matrix tournaments, and sng's, but after an initial surge, I was only achieving breakeven results.

I then switched over to SSS and MTT and started smashing. I now have a good bankroll, with results that are starting to seem consistent, as I am understanding the game a lot more, especially the postflop (an SSS who can play post-flop). I'm also starting to get good MTT results. I'm also slowly trying out BSS, especially SH as it seems like you get the most interesting situations...

I'm not sure if I sound excited enough, but I am: a year in a poker flat would be an absolute dream..

i wish i could apply but i am involved in things that would not allow me to take a year off.

Ever since I heard about this promotion a week ago I've been grinding like mad just to get a chance to qualify. Back then, I was just gold, a few days away from dropping to silver. And now, after seven days, I finally hit Diamond status for the first time in my life.

A little bit about myself. I'm 20 years old, I live in Belgium but have been looking for another country to move to for the past year or so. I'm a spontaneous and eccentric person, even if I say so myself, I love to have fun and don't mind indulging in crazy activities like 36 hour grinding lockdowns, booze chess (take a proportionate amount of vodka shots for every piece you capture) or rooftop paintball. I love music and have a huge collection that I regularly expand. I'm fluent in English, Dutch and Russian, all who question my eloquence can feel free to challenge me to a $1,000 spelling bee ♦

To those who don't know yet, my nickname is a contraction of berserker, because I choose aggression above passivity whenever possible, and zerg, my favorite race from the game StarCraft. I'm an avid gamer, right now I'm playing Modern Warfare 2 and waiting for the two Blizzard hits of the coming year, StarCraft II and Diablo III. Also, I love cinematography and have seen more movies than necessary to mess someone up in the head. I also know a bunch of trivia and have tons of other interests, but that's a story I'll tell my two roommates in Gibraltar, if I'm lucky enough to make it.

I also have qualities as a roommate. I try to keep my house neat, so you won't see me avoiding my cleaning duties. Being a typical poker player, I'm lazy, so the microwave is my friend, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy cooking. I used to study industrial IT, there won't be a need to call an electrician if the lights suddenly go out, and I can fix minor hardware and software issues. Also, when playing poker I wear pants at all times.

I have been playing poker for almost two years now, and managed to make it to a point where I can actually support my lifestyle with my winnings. That's when I took the shot and quit school to focus on my poker career. For this, I am eternally grateful to PokerStrategy. My main game right now is NL100SH BSS. In the past, I played a lot of FR, and a fair share of SnG. I have limited MTT experience and would like to work on that as well, but right now I'm specializing in SH and trying to improve my game up to a point where I stop feeling ashamed for some of my plays. For the next year, I want to increase my roll enough to be able to play NL200, and possibly even NL400. Overall, I simply want to become a better poker player, and this is just an opportunity of a lifetime for me.

PokerStrategy has already given me so much, all the wonderful learning material, instructional videos made by pros, free coachings and of course this wonderful community I'm proud to be a part of. But a year in a dedicated poker flat with equally dedicated players would be nothing less than life-changing!

I'm Vladimir FLSH grinder from Serbia. I haven't much time to write a essay like others cause I've just finish grinding for my last milestone in 2009 at Stars and I'm late for nye party. In short I've quit my job in mid 2009 and now I'm full time grinder,I'm not married nor I have children so I can grind wherever I want from Alaska to New Zealand (incl. Gibraltar). For 2010 I haven't decided what to do yet . I will switch to NL or chase SNE - both of these goals are great blog materials.

I think I would be a great add-on to two other sick grinders because:

1) I always find time to update my blog;
2) My main game is Pot Limit Omaha, it's sick and would produce some funny situations when I bust and have to do errands for other 2 grinders to get several buyins for PLO action ;

Firstly apologises for the late entry, Christmas and New Year have been extremely busy this year, and this is the first chance i've had to sit down and write properly. Hopefully it is not too late and you will consider this post as well!

A little bit about myself my name is Duncan Hamilton, i am 24 and live in St. Andrews, Scotland. I have spent the last 6 years at the University of Glasgow firstly doing an undergraduate degree in Technology and Business and a year later completing my Masters in Strategic Marketing. I graduated in December and now that it is the new year i have no excuse not to look for a job!

I have recently been looking at jobs in Gibraltar, in the gaming industry in particular, aiming at finding a job that combines both my education in marketing and management with my passion for poker. I came across this PS opportunity and instantly got very excited about the prospect of living in Gibraltar with similar people and the ideal learning environment. It would grant me the perfect chance to pick the brains of some of the experts working within the industry at the PS HQ and hopefully give me the knowledge, understanding and possibly the contacts to start the career i dream of. I spent many Summers in Gibraltar and still consider it one of my favourite places in the world, i would truly love the opportunity to go back there and work.

I started playing poker seriously around 18 months ago where i played low-mid STTs and the odd MTT. After making enough of a bankroll i moved over to 50NL cash and now i have 3 strong bankrolls and successfully grind 200NL. With my winnings i was able to pay for the last year of my education and pay off all my student debts. Although i believe i can make more money playing poker than i could in a graduate job, i do not see myself playing poker for a living in the near future. I want to keep my hobby as exactly that and as a peripheral means to a better lifestyle. I am also a very sociable person and i feel i would struggle with the day-to-day isolation that would inevitably come with the job. Although playing daily with like-minded people in the proposed PS flat would certainly solve this problem! I have taught and staked various players at different ages and skill levels with great success and with a bit of luck hopefully i might be able to help others with their game and vice-versa with mine.

I can bring a lot to the flat not just in terms of poker discussion but socially as well. I love going out drinking, eating and having fun. I get on with everyone i meet and would be no problem in the flat, i am also fairly tidy! I enjoy watching/playing almost any competitive sport, especially; Golf, Football, Tennis, Snowboarding and Rugby. I played golf, football, Basketball and Lacrosse for my university at some point and like to change the sport i play every year, as i like new and competitive challenges regularly.

There are some great applications on here so far, and i would be delighted to join the flat with any one of the applicants. Pokerstrategy has taught me a lot, through its educational videos and community forums and moving into this poker flat would truly be a life changing experience for me.
