We were about 40 left. Was this a bad play, or a bad beat?

I wouldn't even give myself FE against MP2. He has 10BB, and openraises for 4 of them.

If you think you are better than his range, then reraise to get him all in. Then you can fold to the push behind you.

As you play it, it is as bad as it can get for you. No hand but a better one than yours can call your push. You are in way too good a position to be risking it now I think.

I wouldn't play the Tens preflop given the circumstances.

the problem here is when you isolate shove you are risking 30bb against the SB and BB if they happen to wake up with a hand.

and TT is only marginally ahead of MP2's range here at best.

i would fold it and wait for a much clearer spot. just too much to risk with your healthy stack.

i dont have a problem with CC MP2 raise pre and stacking off against him on a decent flop.

Yes, I figured it was a mistake. Thank you for your advice. :)

I'm pretty sure I would shove there and I don't think it's close. People show up with ridicolous hands there a lot and TT is just crushing that range. Sucks obv that you ran into QQ, but that's gonna happen. Unless you have a solid read that you are not ahead of MP's range I really can't see how we can get away with anything other than shoving.

I think this is over aggressive and unnecessarily risky play here.

You want to shove nearly 30BB when there can only be two outcomes, most likely. You flip, at best, against MP, or you wake up a monster behind you.

I don't mind trying to isolate MP. But I think here, safer play is reraise/fold when this stack shoves on you.

Honestly reraise/fold seems really bad to me. Note that you are actually way shorter than you might think because of antes, which leaves you with an effective stack of just little over 20BB. You just don't wanna be reraising and then folding at any point, that's just bad. When you reraise you might end up in a weird spot too when you get flatted, so I really don't like that too much. Also note that TT is not "flipping" against MP's range, you're gonna be ahead there a fair amount. This type of game is about thin edges and this is definitively one I would happily take.

You may be right in what you say here. I really don't like shoving in this spot with two big stacks to play behind me. I can only ever be called by big hands. As far as I can see, only overpairs, AK could never call here after a raise and a shove.

If I just reraise MP, and get shoved on by SB or BB, they could then have AK as part of their range. I would then, just, get the odds to call that. But it is the thinnest of thin edges. I would prefer this line to the shove line, but still wouldn't want go be going broke here.

I would not expect anyone to fold AK preflop in a 12/180 ever. They just don't. You might actually get called by 66 when they "set you on AK". Obv when they call it's most likely bad for you, but they won't have a better hand often enough to justify not shoving. And like I said reraise/fold is not really an option because people WILL shove you with worse hands sometimes what forces you to call given odds AND they will flatcall you and you end up in really bad spot - which is why I don't like reraise/call either. TT are massive, just get it in.
