I'm assuming you're an NL full ring player as a beginner (if not why aren't you playing full ring?)
If you are playing full ring this applies to you. If you are playing SSS then I ma not an experct. Sry.
Ok, so for fulll ring listen VERY carefully to this.
You are a biginner thats for sure. no prob we're all beginners at the beginning. ![]()
What you do is this:
You read ALL the BASIC articles on here about starting hands, raising, what to do on the flop; all that stuff. Don't bothes about fancy 3bettting/4betting ( that's rerasing and re-rerraising...whew) and all that crap yet, it'll just get you into spots you dont know how to deal with yet, so we'll ignore those.
Watch every BASIC video on NL SSS or BSS, whichever you are using. Believe me, these people know what they are atalking about. And yes you will see them lose not only hands, but their entire stack...fear not! The rule is; 'Decision correct, result irrelelvant.' Not easy when you've been sucked out on for the 5th time in 8 hands, but completely true. Again, not easy to believe at that time, but it not only comes back, it comes back 3-fold. So, learn the decision, not the result, ok?
Also; and this is a personal favourite of mine (gulp, controvertial), that a lot of the 'stuff' you will see or learn on this fantastic site, is NOT, I repeat, NOT apppropriate if you want to make money and build a bankroll at beginner level.
Oh yes, it will without doubt make you a better thinker/player about the game, but it wont win you much extra money NOW and hence build the bank roll. Why? Because you're not mentally equipped do deal with or use it yet. [sry P.S. feel free to shoot me ]
Actually it will later, because you will become a better player, but I disagreee that it will earn a beginner money at the start. Hey ho, shoot me down.
Ok, so play at the bottom level, learn, review your sessions and learn where you went wrong. Watch, learn/review and play some-more. Post hands/sessions on the forum and you'll get feedback by more experienced players and you'll think; 'Ah, right, I see that now!' By doing this you move on and make more mistakes and post and review and learn again, etc., etc., and ad infintitum, as we all so.
And don't think the superduper players are doing anything different because they're not. They just learn/review/practice different things is alll.
Anyway, I've been a player for 2 1/2yrs now and I've not only not gone broke, I've ALWAYS played with other peoples money. How cool would that feel to you in 6 months? :):)
I'll shut up now and sorry for waffling.
Remember, the players you are up against are ver very very very bad at best and most of the time. So follow the advice/videos your experince etc etc and you will definitely win. Not only win, but win and move up the stakes.
Lastly but certainly not least, sit in on the live coachings......WOW willl you take a leap up! ![]()
Good luck at the tables.
P.S. I don't believe in luck, they do.
