I agree with the people that think this is a great situation .. personally I don't mind this type of player at all. Just tighten up and only play made hands, and hope someone else doesn't take his money/chips before you can. _cool:

my take on bluffers? i generally love them. (unless they suck out)

Just let this thread die already.....

Best way to play a maniac is using position if posible. If this isn't available due to SnG play, use patience instead. Wait. Either he'll clean house for you or exit very quickly gambling in bad spots. A common problem with these guys is they just can't stop.

I think this is a perfect situation to gain some chips..
Especially since you're either in a MTT or SNG, there's other players as well.
He wouldn't even notice that you're folding most hands and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike when he is probably holding some marginal hand.

If he calls anything, he has a monster usually.
If you have one pair (doesnt really matter whether top or bottom) hit him with the hammer and checkraise him, possibly allin.
If you have anything stronger and not on an extremely drawheavy board, slowplay it. If the third color falls on the river though, dont even think about folding your set/top 2 pair. You can't afford to do it against opponents like this.
