This is a very hard spot, however to me it is obvious that their hand ranges for limping would be a pocket pair = set on flop. Still hard to lay down, if this person has very low VPIP I would fold the flop, if he has high would prob call.
Well you are playing cash games where you dont get hit by bad beats. Imagen if you play SNGs and on bubble you totally outplay them and they hit you, you wasted 45minutes or even more to lose money. In cash game you just lose and in next second you can win... but on SNGs you need to play another 45 minutes to see if the person will suckout.
Now tell me how to deal with this?
Just come here when i had set on flop and guy got straight on river...

on the bubble in sng's you play very tight(group 1 hands only) unless you're shortstacked, it's as simple as that.
and trust me bad beats do count in cash games.

You obviously miss looked, where I wrote, that i play SSS.
If you are not famliliar with the term, it means Short Stack Strategy and it means that I play mostly with 20BB BI.
And yes, that was good raise!
Drop the Ego bro, we are all on the same side here.
with sss a 6bb raise versus 2 limpers is bad.

And how much by your opinion whould be appropriate to rasie preflop?
As far as I know the formula for preflop raise goes like this : 4BB + 1BB per limper.
so 4+2 =?
Is there aynthing that I am missing here ???
When I play BSS I love playing v SSS players because I can always outplay them with very small raises. Let's say now same sittuation you raise 6 bb I call, you completetly miss the flop, what do you do when I raise you 1/3 of the pot? or when you make your small cb and I min raise it if you miss?
The best thing for you to do is go all in pf. Increase ur fold equity, and maybe get one of them to call with the worse hand, because if you miss and show weakness on the flop you will prob fold to a bet.

yes there is something you're missing-------- a brain!
don't be so touchy, people are trying to help you here, the idea of sss is to get your money in either pre or on the flop, preferably pre, so 6bb vs 2 opponents won't shake them off, especially if one has a medium pkt pr vs a small stacker.
the way you so mundanely stick to the standard is leaving you open to set miners(i take it you do know what that is?), most big stackers like to call with suited connectors as well, they toy with a sss player, then they chew them up and spit them out.
ah! now i understand, because you have a silver status as opposed to me having bronze i suppose you think i have no idea what i'm doing! is that it? well don't let that fool you, i was up to gold status, then i switched to playing on another site and let my status slide.
anyway, don't worry, you keep playing by a robotic strategy, big stackers love playing people like you.
and try not getting too smart, 4+2=? clearly you're getting out played, end of.
Just to help you abit further with this more, I assume you are playing micro to low stakes. At this level players are unexperienced and over analyse their hands. What I am trying to say is that if you push all, if a unexperienced player has a pocket pair small/medium I bet you they would call you atleast half the time if you push all in preflop, this is due to the fact they could be thinking you are attacking the dead money with nothing, they could be thinking [He probably doesn't have a higher pair so I am prob favourite, and the biggest benefit of playing SSS which is the greatest is the fact that they would be thinking [It's not that much] so pushing PF like I said earlier is prob the most +EV play in this sittuation.
Now think about this from the big stacks point of view, the second you raised 6 bb, one of the guy calls with unkown, if the second big stack has a pp, then he is making an easy call with a pocket pair because of his implied odds. He knows he is gonna get the other 80bb from the guy if he flops his set. Any decen't player can atleast squeeze 40-50 bb even if the guy has nothing.
Hope this helps.
I didint meant to be edgy, and I apologize if it turned out that way.
I think the betting size should be always the same, regardless of your hand, this way your oponent cant read the streanght of your hand.
And if I am not mistaken those are 4BB+ 1 per limper and 3bb on positions of blind steals.
There is no need to re -invent the wheal here.
When I have strong pocket pair (QQ,KK, AA) I dont want to scare my oponents away, just the oposite.
I dont care about your status I just slightly differ from your views about strategy.
cheers
lol this is my last comment on this thread, i've explained to you why it's wrong and also the best play however, you shouldn't post asking for help, and when good help is given to you not respect it. And to your last comment about "Concealing your hand" you are not fooling anyone with what you are betting with. The SSS is very basic and I bet you most players know what you are raising with depending on the possition you do it from, it's all about pushing them to make mistakes.
You seem to have many many gaps in your play, perhaps you should change to BSS where that move would have been fine....But you will prob get wiped out because when you are forced to play outside ABC poker I don't think you know what you are doing.

First of all, thanks for your help.
Second, I seem to overlooked your last comment and what I wrote went to ukcoolcat not to you, if that will smooth things out.
Yes I believe my game has many leaks, but I also believe that with time and discipline I can learn and master any strategy of poker regardless of it being outside of ABC poker or not.
Thank you for your help and good luck
@ZeMammuth
I dont play SSS but I dont like your advice to just push 20BB against 2 limpers. Expecting to get called seems to be quite optimistic to me. How many times happens that villain limps and then call 20BB push? I think its close to 0 except the cases when sb limps AA/KK with intention to backraise. But its just my opinion based on what I saw/experienced. Btw. I see one misconception in your reasoning regarding unexperianced micro players - on one side u say that they are willing to call with small/medium pp on the other side thay are calling because they think u want to just collect dead money. What Im tryng to say is - in the case they know what dead money is, they wouldnt create them by limping or in other words, they usually have no idea what is dead money. and the last thing imho the PF raise was absolutely correct the first limper cant call correctly w pp for setmining as he doesnt know if the 2nd limper calls or folds only the 2nd limper can call profitably w pp when first limper is already in. the sinnology doesnt describe the hand in detail - if MP2 acted first e.g. if he was 1st limper or what was the action on flop, but with that stack to pot ratio (19,5 bb in pot - 6xBB three times plus blinds and heros stack of 14 bb) it is imo mandatory stackoff.
I would like to hear a reply from someone very experienced like Twice T, because this is indeed a hard sittuation. Cause I still beleive raising pf all in is the best play. And I can guarantee you that many micro players would go all in with any low pocket pair or sometimes any ace like ace-10. You are saying that they will only limp call with ak-aa which is bs tbh because they would call much much, [ much much] lighter.
Very advanced players and experienced players I wanna hear your opinion in this. The second thing I would like to add, you have 20 bb, you raise 6, 14 bb left, you have overpair guy bets into you, no way in hell you are gonna fold overpair playing ss, so for this reason it is bets to push pf in this sittuation with a couple of limpers and a hand like qq. which can be easily beaten by any weak ace or king.
I would like to hear from some experienced players from this sittuation.
From what I ve seen in bronze and silver SSS videos, and I ve watched them all, I dont remember that any instuctor advised to defer from strategy and raise bigger than 4BB+ 1BB/limper.
Just watched a video where he raised 6bb with 2 limpers with JJ from CO position.
I dont say that I know better or something, but just as much and exactley the way I learned form instruction materials from PS.
I will post that hand in evolution tho and see what the Gerv has to say about it.
Cheers
but youve ommited one thing. the guy betting into you on the flop doesnt always have set or 2 pair. it depends on player tendencies but unless villain is sth like 12/10/0,5 or he is random fish, I see him betting much more then sets 2pairs here - all 9s, some 8s, oesd, strangely played TT, JJ w/e. regarding of possibilities to be beaten by weak A or K - thats the part of poker - your equity changes through hand, and if pot is 3way and u have overcard on flop u can just shut down if u feel that ur not good any more but you need to get as much money in as possible when your equity is good (PF for example) u can make raises bigger against fish (I actually do it always) with string hands - fish doesnt see difference between 5xBB and 8xBB but even fish see difference between 6xBB and 20xBB. but i dont wnat to argue or what. lets see if somebody more experienced write something
peace
I've never pld SSS b4 so there is a good chance u are right and I am wrong, however in my mind the push preflop seems the best at that level.
I learn myself to take bad beads well by one simply advice. I think that it´s all about right and bad decisions - so u cannot blame yourself. Because when you do good decision - the card will be there and is there. In opposite cause isn´t - simple but its working for me... :-)
