So I'll be honest - I dream about making tons of cash playing poker and that's all. The game, of course, is interesting, but apart from potentially being a way of getting wealthy relatively early in life it is of hardly any interest to me. I already am playing or studying poker 10+ hours a day, I am really getting tired and am unhappy doing this, but the vision of me being rich despite having lived in a very poor environment my whole life is too strong to ignore. However, I must be realistic and ask the question - is it worth it? Is it worth playing 10+ hours a day basically sitting at home and wasting my life on something that I think will make me happy? I don't know, really. If it is possible to earn a significant amount of money by doing this, then I personally think yes it is worth it. Which brings me to the question of the utmost importance to me - how much money can a very good player earn by playing poker on average and how much time needs to be invested? I know it is a rather hard question to answer, but rough estimates will do fine for me. If making a lot of money in poker means sitting 10 hours a day as a very good and talented player to earn a few hundred bucks a month then I guess I better quit now.
The Boku challenge is the kind of a success story which really makes me believe it is worth it. I mean, 10k in 14 days? I could theoretically play like at fewer tables and not for that long and make the same amount in let's say a month, or not?
