Ok, I hit up 8 $10.50's earlier in the day, I was at my Mums house so don't have my setup, thought it would be a good chance without ninja/HEM etc. to do some note taking @ $10.50 and play a focussed game rather than 16 tabling like a loon. I ran like god, hit my $1k BR and left it there. I was feeling good tonight though and fancied playing solely $10.50's, I feel confident and sharp and am thinking I can drop a few BI's playing well and it not be the end of the world. I've taken several shots at this level now - some nervously - some over aggressively - some mixed in with my $5 games, tonight though I played them the way I wanted to, just a balanced game. So I ran so well today that I'm back to BE @ $10.50, horrible start but the last 200 games have been better.
Take It Easy
Like I said, you are going to be subjected to more fcked up hands than most players because the chips are going in at a frantic rate. It DOES make it worse when it happens postflop, esp when you didn't make a mistake in the hand, but half of your battle is going to be realising that getting it in good is not enough. You need to get it in good every day and not be adversely effected when they do get lucky. You will have days where stuff like this happens in consecutive hands, or worse in consecutive sets, where you don't make the money for 15 or 20 straight games. It's how you react to these times that will define whether you succeed !
I'm happy with how comfortable I feel playing the $10.50's now though and the majority of my games are now at these stakes. Don't think it will be long now before I say goodbye to the $5.30's woohoo
