Hello guys,

Here's the deal - I think my main mistake here was not C-betting. I really didn't wanna invest anymore and even though villains fold A LOT to C-bets I decided to just check and see a cheap card, maybe call a moderate bet. Maybe I was even thinking of check-raising him (dunno exactly, was some time back), but after he overbet the pot I think he was really protecting a good made hand. That being said, I to some extent do not like playing draws unless I get some really crazy pot odds or a no-escape situation.

So Question No. 1 is - should we C-bet, (most probably yes) and if villain gives us action what do we do ?

Question No. 2 is - should we check-raise all in for entire stacks ?

Your hand is good enough for cbet and even call a push because you will have invested a lot in the pot and you will have okey pot odds to call/push(combined with fold equity).If you cbet make sure you don't fold because your stack will be crippled a lot and you are getting good equity as i explained before.

This. Once you've checked you unfortunately have to check/fold here as you have no fold equity, and not good enough equity to "call" an all-in for stacks.

Chenny - thanks for that.

Gotta question though - once I've checked why not raise him all in ? I know I might as well leave my $450 in there and just quit (considering my small investment thus far), but the concept you outlined eludes me.

C-bet/R-AI in case of any action or c/f .. how come ?

Let me try to outline the scenario:

1. If you c-bet he could fold outright. So that's giving you fold equity.

2. He could just call, in which case you re-assess the turn and hopefully improve.

3. He could raise, in which case you would be committed because of the large amount of equity you still have in the pot. Say if you bet 600, you will have 2240 left. If he puts you all in, you need to call 2,240 to win 6580, which is pot odds of almost 2:1. You have to call that.

4. If you check, and villain bets. You don't really have much fold equity because villain will have to call thanks to the huge pot odds you are giving him. Your shove however is not giving you good enough odds to draw. Here you will be investing 2,840 to win the same 6580 pot.
