I did some extra late night / early morning session today. AFter party I decided to play some poker and try to reach my amount to try NL5 tomorrow when I wake up :)...
Well guess what, I succeed!!!
Now, before saying my goal of moving up limit is reach, I will actually do 2-3 session at NL5. If I hit a 5 BI down I will move back to NL2. (hopefully not!)
This is a very nice day for me. After around 1 month of playing I have doubled up my bankroll and I can almost say 100% I moved up limit. (Which a lot of it happened today and yesterday when I realize a few of my major leaks.)
NL5 here I come :).
Thanks to everyone who's reading it keeps me motivated.
Now i'm very tired so I will go sleep. Can't wait to fish some NL5 fishies...yum yum! Hopefully not too many bad beats also lol ♠_cool:

I think NL10 will start to be serious stuff. The pot will be bigger and you will actually feel like losing money when you play. Even at NL5 I can already feel the difference. I know it's going to hurt me when I reach NL25 and lose to bad beats lol...50$ pot bye bye!

I decided to 9 table right away because the skill difference did not look very big...Actually I realise that people try to steal blinds a little bit more and to defense it also but as I said before I don't want to get into those kind of fights, so if I see somebody whos too much blind oriented (lol) I will leave the table.

So today started well.

Congratz on beating NL2. Don't let your current couple of bad beats get you down, if it makes you feel any better I went from 272 to just 150 over 3 days losing 10 BI in just one day!
Mass Multi-tabling when you first start a new limit is a VERY bad idea, I've played a lot at NL5 on Full Tilt myself you have to give yourself time to adapt and build up some HH's, the play is different from NL2, learn bet sizes, who the strong regs are, who the weak regsare, who the fish are and who the whales are. You should try just 4 tabling for a little while before you play so many tables at a new limit. Then when you get used to increased pots etc start adding more. This also limits "variance" when you are having a bad day. For the short term you will feel the loses much more than you did at NL2 as you are now losing $5 instead of just $2 that's an increase of 150% and now 5% of your roll at a time instead of just 2%.
I know at first it may seem the same, but 3-bets are not so willy-nilly moving on average from 5% to just 2 or 3%, the % of players per pot is also significantly lower. And if you don't table select you can quickly find yourself on a table that has 8 regs sat at it.
Also, ignore that red line completely until at the very least NL25 possibly NL50 at these stakes no one folds enough to make it a worth while endeavour to increase it. If you want me to show you my graphs etc I can.
Also, try and focus on your game, by not writing your blog and taking screenshots at the same time as playing, that way you may notice that the person that just raised you or became hyper-aggro, is actually a decent player or normally just a calling station, or a passive fish before you commit your chips to the pot making your laydown easier. There are many reasons to fold, and a less reasons to call or raise.

You will run in to setups in every session, if not consider yourself lucky.
You need to accept the facts of poker and accept it for what it is.
Some people are cut out to play poker, some are not. Hope you'll figure out soon which categhory you wanna belong to.
It's always possible to change the way we think or react apon different situations. The road there is tricky and hard, but we can get there if we want it bad enough and if try hard enough. It all comes down to you.

Hey Mardy, well it doesn`t really make me feel better since I also failed pretty hard and also I wish that you succeed so it makes me sad...but at the same time if we compared ourself to people who have downswing at NL100 our lost of 100$ or 50$ or 10$ are nothing for sure...Also you are right, 9 tabling was probably not the best idea since I cuoldnt get much read on the players.
Anyways people, yesterday I was in a fucked up state of mind after getting beats over and over again on NL5 losing like 3 BI (15$) in a row. After those 3 BI my mind went crazy on its own and I became a degen. Really not proud of myself but I lost about 35$ of my bankroll last night due to tilt. I am also having bad time in my life right now which obviously I let go to my poker game and I should of went to sleep but instead I played during the night with all the regs at NL5.
I might look into that book killingu since I really need help for my mindset.
Vonki, I see why you say that and after my post right now you probably think I am the category that doesn`t belong in poker. Fact is, I`ve never really been a FR NL cash game player but more a SNG and a tourney player. Also I am 100% positive that the game on full tilt is much harder than any other website but I could be totally wrong.
It seems like once you start having those bad beats and you try to call with K2s to gay people like fish gay you and hit a board thats 2-2-10 doesnt work. Why people call all -in against you and it works, that, I wonder.
So my first shoot at NL5 was a total failure. BUT I wil not give up yet. My BR is now at 55$.
Now here`s my option and what I will think about for the next day :
Go back to SnGs.
Beat NL2 again, bring BR to 125$.
Switch website
Here`s why I think I might switch to SnG : It hurts me a lot less to lose a SnG of 1$ or 2$ BI A9s vs 108s on the push on fold phase than getting my aces crack everytime on NL5 and seeing 5$ of my real money go away. It is a lot less hard for me. And I had success previously with SnG on full tilt.
At the same time Im considering trying again because I just can't end this blog on such a failure. It seems like NL5 and Nl2 on full tit is very different. I found my game style for NL2 but NL5 people are way stronger and ABC poker anymore doesnt work. Also the blind battle are non dodgeable. (Evitable, whatever the word is)
THe last option which is actually very smart is to switch website which I kind of already did. Today I signed up for Cake Poker, I heard it's much more fishy than FT and I will also get a 110% bonus on my initial deposit + rake back. Choice is obvious. Doesnt mean I wont play both website at the same time because as I said before if I am able to beat full tilt micros. any micros on any websites will be easy.
Right now I will take 2-3 days of break from games on the computer and poker at all. I might read some articles but thats it. My body and brain is tired for many different reason an I am having issues in my life.
I will defianlly play NL FR on cake poker but my money on full tilt might go toward SnGs instead.
Sorry guys that this couldnt be a nice success story as other blogs. Hopefully one day I will look at this blog and nostalgia about how much as was struggling and how much progress I made.

Hmm.. your BR management should be a bit more conservertive. Only up when you hit like 30BI. Or else every hit you take will make you want to make back more and so you play more trash hands. Dun give up. Cash games is the way to the money. You just need to get your mindset straightened up and not focus on your BR that much. Focus on specific plays and reads.

It has been a while since I updated!! Hehe, I took a small break to think about what I was going to do and at same time I started playing again on my full tilt again
Let's start with the good news :
First tournament on cake poker
So I am having lots of difficulties to deposit into cake poker the amount I want, I need to use a website to do it and the website makes a micro deposit or micro charge into your visa that takes forever to reach your statement, therefore you are left with no money for a while.
I was so sick of playing on full tilt that I decided to play a freeroll for the first time in maybe 3 years.
Funny thing is, I won the freeroll, which sadly leads me to another free roll to win money but hey, the winning feeling feels great. I was doing great, playing well, hitting, and people on cake are WEAK. (I hope it's like that on cash game also)
Now for the not so good news :
Full TILT poker :
I know the reason why it's calld like that. It's made to try to make you tilt :P.
Anyways, I have decided to rebuild my BR and that I will not give up on cash game. I can't focus on learning SnGs and learning FR cash game at the same time and I don't like giving up on such a sad ending.
After trying a few tournament on full tilt with no BR management (some 3$ and few 1$) I felt likee it was time for me to get back to business. I won't even bother telling where my BR is at because it's pretty ugly right now but I am not near broke and I won't be that's 100% sure.
Today was so frustrating again. I don't want to complain, I took as many bad beats I could with a smile, but then when it's each hands that you are suppose to win you don't, it's kind of hard to not feel angry...But I didn't, I just ended up leaving and telling myself that tomorrow will be better, I will make money out of those fishies I know it, because I did it before and my game is getting better everyday because I want to learn.

I think most of your issues still lay within your attitude/mindset/knowledge.
The fact that you said "loose money that you should have won" tells me that as soon as you played the hand you considered yourself already being the rightful owner of those money in the middle.
Hence when you loose them, you're not very happy.
You still got a lot to do imo, so get to work. Start out by reading the poker mindest.

one thing I notice u should be always.... always super confident about your game dont let the fish shake u up and take u stack. pay less attention to short term result. U know i alway told me self that poker is not about one hand 2 hand or one day two day is all about play A game to be the last one standing in the table the $$$$$ is gonna fly into ur pocket in no time.

Cake poker
My first sessions of cash game on cake poker were terrible. Of course the number of fishies are bigger therefore more bad beats but it's ok. I will keep on trying.
You remember that freeroll I won that lead to another freeroll? I finished 4 / 300 for a nice 65$.

I have been playing some tournament ass well on full tilt and some cash game NL2. Nothing much to say abou tthe cash game but today I finished 42 / 3000 in a Rebuy 2$ tournament for a nice 50$. Lost AK vs AA.
BR on full tilt = 90$
So I plan on playing a few more MTTs. They are fun (but very stressful near the end....
Also I am not sure anymore about cake poker. NL4 there is annoying.
I will play NL2 on full tilt for sure.
Also I decided not to register to the league of champions. Too many applicants and I won't really have time since I need to focus on my studies. (My semester starting in september)

I thought I would throw out there a small review of cake poker for everyone that might want to try it.
SnGs : I tried to play a SnG(1$ BI) around 3 PM my time which would be 10 PM in europe and it took around 10 minutes for it to fill up. The traffic on this site is super low.
Cash game micro : The players are more bad then full tilt but the fact that HuD is not allowed makes it harder for sure. You need to write a lot of notes on the player and you can'T realy multitable more than 2-3 tables. (Even if you wanted, there's not enough traffic).
Tournament : I think this is where you can make the most money on that website. Fishy players + tournament = clueless about blind stealing = free money. Some tournament get cancelled due to lack of traffic...
The website has also a lot of weird bugs and a lot of 2+2 thread talking about security. I heard it is hard to cash out...
