Don't get involved in pots with that Karib Karib bloke. Surely having the same name twice makes you run twice as good....

Ended up busting out in 10th place to my friend Michael Egan / ITSOVER9000 on 2p2 (it's the polar bear facepalm avatar guy), who's looking very strong at the moment in the tournament (which is ongoing, follow it here
http://www.pokernetwork.com/reporting/2010-victorian-poker-championships/2700-main-event/day-3 ). I had a very very very loose image when I raised QQ utg with something like 25bb effective and got 3bet by an old person from MP1 on a 10handed table. He had 21bb I believe. While it would be criminal to consider folding this hand online ever with stacks less than 50bb deep, I truly believe that if we were 30bb deep I would play the hand differently (probably flat OOP pre and try play a smaller pot postflop). With 21bb however the hand obviously plays itself especially as old people always size their 3bets poorly, and shoving has so much better risk:reward. I shoved and obviously he had aces which held and I was very much crippled. Left with 3bb I folded 2 hands then jammed UTG with AQs. Michael isolated from CO with AKo, which held up and I was out in 10th place.

Going into the tournament I would obviously be quite happy with a 10th place finish. Going into day 3 with a nice playable chipstack, a very good seat position yet still busting last place on the final table was very disappointing however. My next live tournament series will be APPT Auckland. Would be nice to win.

Given that you told me that

i) Anyone over 30 is 'old'
ii) You fold QQ and sigh when 3bet by old people

I am a tad surprised. I guess with 25bb, these rules don't apply. :f_biggrin:

21bb :P. 25bb i consider it again. QQ is a good hand when you've been showing down a2s
