Here is a graph showing potential 100 results for a player who wins 2.5bb/100 over 1,200,000 hands

As you can see after 500,000 hands, 1 of the 100 results is still losing (despite being a solid winning player)

Hope this explains how long it might take for your luck to even out if you run really really bad.
