What are the odds of actually winning this?
I know you have to get 4 of a kind with more than 4 people raked in.
So to "win" the jackpot, you would need 4 of a kind and the other player to have a Straight Flush or a royal Flush.
All I can think of is if I had pocket A for example, then on the flop two more A, a K and a Q, on the river a J and on the street a 10. I know there are other variations but this is the jist of it.
I think id rather chance my odds of winning the lottery!!!
I don't know the chances and I don't know how to calculate them but it is enough to beat your 8888 with 9999. 
Its terrible, I had pocket 3's on a very aggressive table, ive seen people losing $5 on a A high. So I called and on the flop another 3 appeared!!!
3 3's and you start wondering if its your turn so you stay in and then on the street it was a 8!!! sooooo close, it even looks like a 3!! Luckily, I won 3 of a kind lol

I know this isn't the hand sample foeum but I would 3-bet the flop. A check behind at the turn from an oesd would be very ugly.
But it's always nice to have a set and win much money with them.
But my point was that with the added temptation of the bad beat jackpot, it makes you play pocket pairs you wouldn't normally look twice at.
Does anyone have the actual odds of this carrot?
It isn't worth playing different just to asure the chance of the jackpot. The chances are really low.
Btw you need to lose at least with 4 of a kind eightes or higher to get the jackpot. With pocket 33 you won't get a cent. :/
Oh, didnt know it was 8's, I thought it was just 4 of a kind!!! Imagine the kick off I would have made if I had the 4 3's and not won!!!!

I usually play a lot on jackpot tables because they are way more lose.
had a badbeat very close once.. I had quad aces and villain had :diamond:K 
Q making a straight, if he had Q of 
instead of he would've had royal flush
even if u win the bad beat jacky you only get 35% of it anyway....still be nice though!
At the moment, the jackpot total is about $508,995 are you complaining that you only get $178148? And for losing your hand?

The odds are low but...
You play what 100 hands an hour as apposed to the lottery once a week.
The if anyone wins you get a cut so thats 10 chances.
Taking that in mind there has to be more chance.
I have had my 4 tens beaten by 4 Kings before. Unfortunately it wasn't at a bonus table and we were the only two people in anyway so it wouldn't of counted.
I never thought about bonus tables being more loose. Might need to look into that.
The jackpot's only hit maybe once a week. There are a lot of hands played on jackpot tables in any given week.
The jackpot contribution hurts more than you'd expect too.
I dont ever recall call a huge bad beat like that happening to me.Its pretty impossible. You're lucky( or unlucky) to get a bad beat like that in your lifetime.
Now its over 700,000 $ ! I don't like playing at jacpot tables because they are always a few calling stations that hit straight on the river or set or something to beat you. I had a quad 10s once on jackpot table only problem was nobody beat me
