No Limit Holdem Tournament
4 Players
Hand Conversion Powered by weaktight.com
$30 + $3 Sit & Go

Stacks:
CO Hero (3,088)
BTN sabotage99 (5,308)
SB Harry Balszak (2,645)
BB stefan1848 (2,459)

Blinds: 120/240

Pre-Flop: (360, 4 players) Hero is CO 10:spade: 10:heart:
Hero raises to 600, sabotage99 raises to 1,400, 2 folds, Hero folds

Final Pot: 2,360

sabotage99 wins 2,360 (net +960)

Hero lost 600

Opponent is a winning reg..
Other players are fishes...
I've gotten few walks on this table so far.. so Table dynamic def loves me atm...
I haven't seen the reg abuse the bubble so far.. But that might just be me not paying attention or that we are just too deep stacked to do any real abusing...

Is this raise like the bets described in the gigabet article?

Realy not sure what to do in this spot. Good thing I don't expect this spot on my current limit :f_grin:

With this stack sizes I'd go for an open push. What do you think about that?

I push pre. As played, I think his raise size is screaming TRAPTRAP. Even if it's not a trap you probably have to fold though.

I agree.

Pushing pre is fine, raiscalling is better against aggressive opponents, I wouldn't fold TT here wouthout reads.

Would you go broke vs the regular here??... His raise sizing looks strong.. and we still have 10bb after folding this hand.. and because of the 2 fish I'm expecting to get some walks in the future...

Also why isn't raise/calling better against every player on this limit? We sure want the short stacks to go broke with a wider range here.. and I'm pretty sure they shove a wider range here than they call with...
BTW I haven't been shoving any hands prior to this so this doesn't look really trappy..

and I actually had a thought about playing stop and go vs the reg here.. how does that sound???

Ty for your replies all..

Would you go broke vs the regular here??

Only if he is restealing realy wide, like Unan said (agressive oponents).
I think if he's not, then pushing is better. And if he's not, as played, I think is a fold.

From http://www.pokerstrategy.com/strategy/sng/555/4/

You only have to invest 35% of the opponent's chip stack to put him all-in.

This is also the reason why you are still in one group with a chip difference of up to 35%, as the bigger one of the two stacks has enough chips to put the other one all-in without having to go all-in himself (even though only a few people actually use this).

Example:
Blinds t50/t100
Seat 1: MP1 ( t1005 )
Seat 2: MP2 ( t1100)
Seat 3: MP3 ( t1040 )
Seat 4: Cutoff ( t490 )
Seat 5: Button ( t410 )
Seat 6: SB (Hero) ( t2015 )
Seat 7: BB (Villain) ( t1495 )
Seat 8: UTG ( t1050)
Seat 9: UTG+1 ( t850 )
Seat 10: UTG+2 ( t545 )

Preflop: Hero is SB
8 folds, Hero raises to t525

Scenario a:
Hero raises to t525, Villain folds
-> Hero wins t100

Scenario b:
Hero raises to t525, Villain re-raises to t1495 and is all-in, Hero folds.
-> Hero loses t525

That's what I'm talking about. But I agree it doesn't aply to this case.

The problem ofc. is, we have no Idea what the raisors intention is, it could be a play similar to Gigabets play, but we can't know.
Luckly this isn't the problem here, cause I would call resteals with TT, so don't mind if he is pushing from time to time. A bigger problem would be if he pushed the weak hands and 3bets QQ+. :(

It isn't so great to get action with TT on the bubble. To want action instead of stealing the blinds, you want 72% equity against the extra resteals from the chip leader, and 66% equity to want action against the blinds.

This doesn't mean you should fold if someone resteals, but you shouldn't be too eager to provoke a resteal from hands like A5s, KQo, or JTs which would not call if you push.

I dont like a normal raise here at all. Regs are going to resteal way too often for my liking and TT isnt all that great then on the bubble.

Because of that I would definitely go with a shove here.

As I said pushing is fine, but aggressive opponents will add a ton of hands, against which we are good here, and they will not folde the hands, that have us beat, so I think it is OK to r/c against them.
