I have no idea how to play in this situation, so I just messed around. Any good advice?
Turn: (5.5 BB) 6 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero folds
Final Pot: 7.5 BB
SB wins 7.2 BB
i cap JJ preflop vs a SB 3bet.
so what to do when you dont know what to do?
ask yourself some questions during this hand. for example:
-whats his 3betting range? (thats a question you have to ask yourself before you even choose to call or cap his 3bet preflop)
on the flop:
-which part of his range has you beat, what hands improved, and which ones do you beat?
-weigh on what % of his range has you beat
base your decision on those facts. when you analyze hands like that on your own, use the ps.com equilator or pokerstove and give your opponent ranges based on his stats and your reads, then see for yourself what your equity on a board like that against a 3bet range from a TAG (or whoever) is.
you could try to answer these questions for yourself and maybe you come up with a good idea on how to play this hand?

This is actually a very good advice and many players should follow it. Self study is the most important part of how to get better and most often decitions which you derive from there are way more valuable than usually meaningless answers to certain hands here.
But still...my way... preflop is matter of style and balancing but if you cap very strong hands here you should also cap certain amount of deceptive hands(like JTs/QJs/9Ts...) to balance it. This is actually a very nice way to go here. I personally at the moment I tend to not cap at all but it may not really be the optimal play.
This flop is very good for you obviously. SBs range includes a lot of Ax/Kx/pockets that you still beat(plus you decepted your hand) so you have to raise at some point and there is again no right answer how to play it especially when you have 0 info on your oponent.
You call flop/rase turn and fold to 3bet and it is an ok standard line here.
However I preffer fastplaying your hand by raising directly on the flop as you will get super light calldowns from Ahighs because board is so drawheavy.
Against unknown folding turn is fine.His call flop c/r turn indicates strength and not many 0,25/0,5 players are doing this as bluff.

you mean that only against TAGs right? i usually cap JJ against any villain on this stakes tho, just because its a lot more profitable. i dont know if balancing on .25/.5 or .5/1 is that important. id change my capping-pattern only against thinking tags. also thanks a LOT for your very detailed hand reviews, they are so much better than the ones on the german forums.
