The turn I wasn't sure whether to check behind or bet. I decided to bet as I had now gained more outs, any diamond and maybe A or K. I also think a lot of what he may have called the flop conti bet with would fold to a second barrel. TT, JJ, 88, 77.

is a good card for 2nd barrel, gives more equity against the villain also he may fold his weaker pair or PPs there. Nice hand! But one option would be also to just Check behind the turn since he has such a WTS %, which is likely going to Call you with 9x type of hands anyway. Therefore I'd say both lines are acceptable.
